Visiting prisoners in Weibei Prison

According to Article 40 of the "Prison Law", criminals may meet with relatives and guardians according to regulations while serving their sentences. Interviews with offenders are generally held once a month, lasting half an hour to an hour each time. Prisons can increase the number of interviews and extend the length of interviews for offenders in lenient management and other criminals with special circumstances. Criminals who need to meet must request a meeting in the monthly letter. The squadron police officer will send a "Meeting Notice" with the letter, and the person to be interviewed will come to the prison for the meeting on the specified date. In principle, the persons to whom criminals can meet include close relatives and guardians of criminals. Close relatives include spouse, children, grandchildren, parents, parents-in-law, grandparents, maternal aunts, uncles, aunts, brothers and sisters of yourself and your spouse, and their spouses.

The interviewee must bring his or her ID card and other valid proof of his or her relationship with the criminal (household registration booklet, police station certificate, unit introduction letter, etc.), and can only be interviewed after being reviewed by the prison police officer in charge of interviewing him. Other relatives or other persons whom the prison deems to be helpful in reforming the offender may also be interviewed with the approval of the prison.
