" Shi Keji, an expert in literature and history and creator of Levin Cultural Center, said proudly.

Shi Keji introduced that after the "July 7th Incident", the wiring village, as the production and circulation organization of Levin cloth, closed down due to the traffic jam, the source of cotton yarn pigment cut off and the products could not be transported abroad. Many machines of 14 dyeing and rolling mills were transported to Tianjin with their owners, but those that failed to be moved were taken away by the Japanese army, and some were destroyed by the Japanese army, resulting in the complete closure of the dyeing and rolling industry in Levin.

On October 31st, 1937, Lv Zhengcao, then commander of the People's Guard, broke into Gaoyang City and shot Yin Songshan, the pseudo-security captain. Only a few textile manufacturers and businesses in Levin City quickly raised 5, sets of cotton-padded clothes to support the People's Guard.

in p>1985, Lv Zhengcao returned to Levin at the age of 81. He recalled with emotion: "Levin is a good place. When the People's Self-Defense Forces arrived in Levin, the weather was cold, but the soldiers were still wearing single clothes, and they changed into cotton clothes made of Levin cloth here."

Although the textile industry was almost dying, the people of Levin in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's time returned to the old line of hand-weaving, making looms and spinning wheels, and weaving homespun with earth-moving machines to meet the needs of military supplies and civilian use. Some old people in Gaoyang county recalled that they could not import pigments at that time, so they used Sophora japonica red soil, sorghum hat, five shellfish as pigments and dyed cloth to make clothes to support frontline soldiers.

At that time, the Eighth Route Army and guerrillas often sent people to some villages in Levin to buy homespun. When the weavers heard that the Eighth Route Army had come to collect the cloth, they all rushed to hand it over. Everyone said, "Needless to say, we will hand it over even if we don't pay the money. People risked their lives to fight the devils, in order to live a good life for us in the future." According to records, in 1938, only Liuxiang Zuoyi Village in Gaoyang County provided more than 2, small homespuns for the troops.

In the second half of p>1943, the situation in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression improved. In order to develop production, the anti-Japanese democratic government set up supply and marketing cooperatives, organized sideline production, vigorously advocated spinning and weaving, and helped the people in Zhixiang to promote cloth products on the premise of supporting the Anti-Japanese War. At that time, there were 15 villages and more than 2,5 people in the county to carry out large-scale production campaigns, showing the situation of weaving in every village and spinning in every family.

in August p>1945, Japan declared its unconditional surrender, and the anti-Japanese soldiers and civilians celebrated War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's great victory with joy. General Yang Chengwu, the founding general and former commander of Jizhong Military Region, wrote in his Memoirs: "To celebrate the victory of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, more than 3, troops directly under the military region changed into new military uniforms made of Levin cloth overnight after a week of preparation."
