There are two main theories about the origin of Guo Kui:

Then the soldiers called this kind of shield soldier "pot helmet", that is, hard armor made of pot. "Guo Kun" also became famous. When Qin people go out, they must brand a pot helmet at home and let the people who go out take it with them. This custom continues to this day.

2. When the officers and men of the Tang Dynasty built Ganling for Wu Zetian, the construction progress was often delayed because of the large number of craftsmen in service, so a soldier put the dough in his helmet, baked it in the fire and baked it into cakes, called Guo Kui.
