Episode plot: Episode 1

In Japan 70 years ago, women set out on the battlefield of their own volition. In 1931, Amano Kiyo, a female student in Saga, had a longing for the career of a nurse because her mother was hospitalized for a long time, and she was working hard towards this dream. There is even the idea that "women should also contribute to the country" and the desire to become a military nurse. After undergoing rigorous training, he also received a "red paper" to enlist in the army when he graduated from nursing school.

Under the watch of family and friends, Amano Kiyo embarked on a trip to China. However, what awaited her was a harsh environment far removed from the "fraternity" spirit of the Red Cross - an environment riddled with bullets and unimaginable mental pressure. With insufficient manpower, a large number of wounded people have to be treated every day, leaving almost no time to sleep.

One day, Gen Nakagawa of the "Manchuria" pioneering group was sent to the hospital after being injured. Another injured person who came at the same time was Nakagawa's adopted brother Guang, and the other injured person was a Chinese Mr. Sun. Kishiro persuaded the military doctor Otake Hideyo to treat the Chinese Mr. Sun on the grounds that doctors have no borders, but was stopped by the head of the hospital, Lieutenant Colonel Zuihara, on the grounds of insufficient manpower. After that, the 18-month mission ended, and Hiyo decided not to return to Japan for the time being.
