What is the basic situation of South China University?

University of South China is a full-time public comprehensive university with a history of more than 60 years, which was founded by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, China National Nuclear Corporation and Hunan Provincial People's Government. The school was formed by the merger of Central South Institute of Technology and Hengyang Medical College, and the Sixth Institute of Nuclear Industry. It is a university supported by the basic capacity building project of universities in the central and western regions of China (small "2 1 1" engineering university).

The school has formed a discipline professional system which focuses on engineering and medicine, and nine disciplines, such as philosophy, economics, law, literature, science, management and art, develop in a coordinated way. There are 24 directly affiliated colleges, 6 directly affiliated hospitals, cooperative affiliated hospitals 1 1, and 25 cooperative postgraduate training units.
