The Economic Development of Jingyu Town

Jingyu Town is the political, economic, cultural and information center of Jingyu County. It is the seat of the county party committee and government with convenient transportation. There are three provincial highways in the town: Chaochang Highway, Yujiang Highway and Bai Jing Highway. Yu Hui local railway was completed in 2003 and put into use in July 2005.

Three famous waterworks in China-Master Kong, Nongfu Spring and Wahaha have settled in Jingyu Town. On August 10, 2006, the county government signed an agreement with Wutai Group, a well-known enterprise in the province, to jointly develop mineral spring drinks. The total investment of this project is planned to be 10 billion yuan, and 12 production lines will be built, with an annual output of10.5 million tons of mineral spring drinks. At present, preparations are being made before the project starts, and the products can be put on the market one year later. By then, the company will become the largest producer of mineral spring drinks in the city.

The heating project of Jingyu Hongye Heating Company in this town began to invest in 2003, and the accumulated investment in 2005 reached 36.7 million yuan. The company covers an area of 19466 square meters, with a building area of 6500 square meters and a heating area of 640,000 square meters. In 2006, it is planned to invest 100,000 yuan, increase the heating area by 250,000 square meters, increase the boiler tonnage100 tons, and invest nearly 6 million yuan to build seven new thermal expansion stations. By the end of June 2006, the cumulative output value was 5.6 million yuan and the tax revenue was 740,000 yuan.
