My first interview: "Face job" helped me a lot
My first interview: "Face job" helped me a lot. Interviews are very important for job hunting. For interviewers, it is a necessary step, so for professionals, everyone has a different interview story. Let’s take a look at my first interview: “Face work” helped me. My first interview: "Face work" helped me 1
The sunshine that had been raging all day finally dimmed, there was still no wind, and the sweltering heat overwhelmed everything. The dormitory was messy and crowded, with packed luggage piled next to each other and bundles of books piled all over the floor. Everything before graduation is hidden in the sadness of farewell.
Facing the mirror, I looked at myself: my hair was lying on my head in strands, looking downcast. There was also a lack of energy on his face. Tomorrow is the day of the interview, so we can't be so sloppy.
The night was long and muggy, and I woke up intermittently several times. When I woke up for the last time, the sky was slightly brighter and there were gradually more noises outside.
Slowly, the sky became completely bright, and the sunlight was flowing brightly everywhere. It's already 6:10, and it doesn't take much effort to brush your teeth and wash your face. But today, just brushing my teeth took me 5 minutes. I put on my trousers and shirt and looked myself up and down. "Buddha needs gold, people need clothes" is not wrong at all. Looking at the "reborn" me in the mirror, I feel a sense of confidence rising.
There is still time, and I once again "look at the mirror with yellow decals and apply red makeup on my temples". Although my classmates were "sarcastic" and said I was "stinky", I remained unmoved, "Is it an interview? Of course image is very important."
The sunshine is beautiful and vicious, heating everything in the city. It was only 7:20 when we arrived at the clothing import and export company. There were people applying for jobs standing outside the door, all well-dressed.
I stood in a corner, constantly wiping the sweat from my forehead. My face was sticky and my shirt was wet and dried in patches. Facing the brown glass on the window, I could vaguely look at myself. I immediately went over to straighten my shirt collar and smooth my messed up hair.
This is my first interview. I have been to job fairs, large and small, many times in the past, and submitted many resumes. However, the hope that was released again and again, like a lit lamp, experienced brightness, dimness, until it was disillusioned. Thinking that these moments that may change my destiny are coming soon, I secretly made a decision.
At 7:30, a thin young lady led us into the lobby. The hall is bright and spacious, and the oil paintings on the wall and the tropical artificial plants placed in the corners make it feel warm. People participating in the interview gathered in a corner of the hall, waiting for the company's arrangements.
Everyone sat around the writing table and was silent at first. Later, I don’t know who brought up the topic first, and everyone started chatting. Although we were talking and laughing, I knew that everyone was actually a little reserved and conservative, even with a hint of indifference and hypocrisy. I suddenly remembered the name of a movie - "Dark War", which can describe such an atmosphere.
It was a little while before 8 o'clock, so I decided to go to the bathroom just to wash my face. At the same time, another person in the bathroom was also washing his face. I turned on the faucet and splashed water on my face. As soon as the cool water hits my face, the tight and sticky feeling immediately disappears without a trace, and I feel refreshed.
At 8 o'clock, the thin young lady came over and read out the interview list loudly. I was ranked 9th. When the interview with the first person was over, I suddenly found that there was a light layer of dust on the shoes that were shiny when I arrived, just like a cute face suddenly became sick.
I quickly found a piece of paper and wiped it as if no one else was around. Suddenly, almost all eyes moved to me, and my face suddenly turned red. Finally it was my turn. I straightened my clothes and walked in confidently.
The person conducting the interview was Manager Zhang from the import and export department of the company. He looked familiar to me. Thinking about it carefully, it seemed that he was the person I met in the bathroom just now.
“Hello!” Manager Zhang greeted me with a smile and motioned for me to sit down. I straightened my back and sat on the chair, looking directly at Manager Zhang.
"Tell me about yourself first." I was secretly pleased at the expected question.
I immediately blurted out the "self-introduction" that I had silently recited hundreds of times. The following questions are also very simple, such as summarizing my personality traits, strengths, and weaknesses. Because I prepared in advance, my answer was pretty good.
At the end of the interview, Manager Zhang suddenly came over and said to me with a smile: "The image of the applicant is very important. You should get full marks today. However, you'd better wash your hands before washing your face in the future." "Ah?! Okay, okay...", I nodded, happy and surprised at the same time. A week later, the clothing import and export company informed me that I was hired. My first interview: "Face work" helped me 2
The first company I interviewed for a job was a large real estate company in Shenzhen. It was November 4, 2001, and this company held a job fair on the campus of Peking University.
The day before the job fair, someone called the dormitory and sincerely invited four people from our dormitory to attend the job fair the next day. They also called on their names one by one. Later we found out that every dormitory in our class received this call---we found out that the address book in our class had been "betrayed" by someone.
The job fair that day was lackluster. I vaguely filled out an application form and submitted a resume. At about 9 o'clock in the evening that day, I received a notice for the interview the next day, but the surprise it gave me quickly disappeared, because I found that except for one guy in our class who had crossed his resume, everyone in our class had received an interview notice.
For the interview, I did not take any special action. Apart from being emotionally moved, I continued to play computer chess.
My interview time is 9:45 am. Later I found out that the interviews at that company were conducted by the HR manager and the company CEO in person. I arrived at Peking University Resources Hotel at 9:30, but was told by the front desk that there was no room 2165 I was looking for.
I realized that something must have gone wrong somewhere: either I remembered it wrong, or the person on the other side made the wrong notification. Just as I was walking back dejectedly, I met Brother Qiang from the dormitory next door. His interview time was at 10 o'clock sharp.
Under his strong suggestion, I bravely walked back and was interviewed in room 2156! Along the way, I was thinking about how to make up a true lie, but I didn't expect that the solution to the problem would be so unexpected. We arrived outside room 2156 of Zizi Hotel at 9:55. Soon the HR manager came out and asked the next student to come in, but the name she called was me, not Brother Qiang.
The first thing the interviewer said to me was: "I'm sorry, the classmate in front of me delayed a little time, so I kept you waiting." I was so happy that I naturally didn't show any emotion. Smile for it.
However, this good psychological advantage quickly disappeared. What do you know about our company? What are your views on the Chinese real estate market? How do you understand the position you are applying for? What do you think your strengths and weaknesses are? What are your plans for your future? …Questions rained down on me.
I had never heard of this company before, and I didn’t know much about the real estate market. I wrote the position I applied for based on my feelings... I definitely didn’t answer that way at the time, but I can’t remember how I responded. Answered, there is only one word for my feeling about my performance: poor!
The blow did not end when I said goodbye to the interviewer. On the way back to the dormitory, I met a female classmate. She pursed her lips and smiled at me, and then said to me sarcastically: "The collar of your suit is not folded, the trademark on the cuffs is not torn off, and the third button of the suit should not be "Hey, why are you so stupid?"
My mother, where do you get so many thorns? This was the outfit I just bought three days ago. It was my first time wearing a suit and leather shoes. I didn’t expect so many jokes. He ran upstairs angrily, threw off his suit and the tie that was strangling him, and then threw all the company's promotional materials on the table into the trash can.
The results came out. The company made three offers to our class, including Brother Qiang. It was said that the salary given was huge.
I have to admit that this was a failed experience. The leading problem was lack of preparation. His performance in this process was absurd and ridiculous, and the final outcome was doomed from the beginning. Facts have once again provided a footnote to the old saying: Success does not come to the unprepared.
