What is the increase in stretch fabric testing?

With regard to the testing of elastic fabrics, "growth" usually refers to the phenomenon of tensile deformation or dimensional change of fabrics in use. Elastic fabrics may be slightly lengthened or shortened during wearing and washing, which is called "growth".

In order to evaluate the "growth" of elastic fabrics, tensile tests and dimensional stability tests are usually carried out. Here are some related test methods:

Tensile test: Through tensile test, the deformation of elastic fabric under different stretching degrees can be measured. This is helpful to know whether the fabric will have excessive "growth" during use.

Dimensional stability test: this test mainly aims at the dimensional change of fabric during washing. Whether the fabric keeps its original size after washing or will shrink or stretch obviously is an important consideration.

Fabric structure analysis: By analyzing fabric structure, including yarn material and fabric density, the "growth" behavior of fabric can be predicted. Some fibers or textile structures may lead to greater "growth".
