Opening date of the southern section of Beijing Metro Line 16

On December 31, 2022 (Saturday), the southern section of Beijing-Hong Kong Metro Line 16 will be opened and connected with the northern and middle sections, providing greater travel convenience for residents along the line.

The southern section of Line 16 starts from Muxidi in the north and ends at Yushuzhuang in the south, with a total length of about 14.2 kilometers and a total of 10 stations. From north to south, they are Muxidi Station, Daguanying Station, Honglian South Road Station, Lize Business District Station, Dongguantou South Station, Fengtai Station, Fengtai South Road Station, Fufengqiao Station, Kandan Station and Yushuzhuang Station.

Among them, Daguanying Station will transfer to Line 7; Dongguantou South Station will transfer to Fangshan Line; Fengtai Station will transfer to Line 10 and connect with Fengtai Railway Station; Fengtai South Road Station will transfer to Line 9.

This time, the opening of Lize Business District Station of Line 16 is temporarily suspended. According to the plan, Lize Business District Station will be able to transfer to Line 5 in the future. The northern and middle sections of Line 16 were opened in 2016 and 2020 respectively. After the southern section of Line 16 and the northern and middle sections are put into operation, the average daily passenger volume is expected to increase to about 350,000.

Through the study of passenger flow, stations, transfers and other characteristics along the line, Line 16 will adopt a single traffic operation mode, with a minimum driving interval of 6 minutes during morning and evening peak periods on weekdays, and all trains during off-peak periods on weekdays and weekends. The minimum daily driving interval is 8 minutes, and the one-way running time is about 78 minutes.

3. Download the official subway app of your city. Take Shanghai as an example. Its official subway app is Metro. After the passenger downloads and installs it, he or she needs to register an account according to the prompts. After the login is completed, face recognition is required.
