Wu Guixian's Road to Life

The footprint of a model worker

In retrospect, Wu Guixian felt that his life was full of too many misfortunes and fortunes. On a freezing day in 1938, Wu Guixian was born in a poor farmer's home in Gongyi County, Henan Province. In 1951, at the age of 13, Wu Guixian set foot on the train to the west and went out to find a job alone.

She is too young, small, and young. How can she find a job? At first, she had to do odd jobs at menstruation's house, a distant home in caijiapo. Later, I took care of children for menstruation's nephew. But curiosity and competitiveness can't allow her to "be safe" for too long. So, when the No.1 National Cotton Factory in Northwest Shaanxi, the first national textile factory in new China built in the ancient city of Xianyang, started to recruit foreign workers, Wu Guixian, who was only 13 years old, stood on tiptoe in front of the recruiters.

At that time, the minimum age for recruitment was not less than 16 years old, but Wu Guixian was only 13 years old. Although he lied about being 3 years old, he was petite, so people would not believe him! However, the person in charge of recruitment was moved by the strong and stubborn girl in front of him and made an exception to recruit a "child worker". From then on, Wu Guixian put on a white bib and a white hat, and became the first batch of workers in Northwest China Cotton Factory.

With the growth of age, Wu Guixian has not only a full labor enthusiasm, but also a passionate political enthusiasm. She joined the League in 1955 and joined the Party in 1958. On the day of joining the Party and becoming a full member, the leader talked with her and told her solemnly that, in view of her extraordinary performance, she decided to transfer her to Zhao Mengtao Group as the leader of Zhao Mengtao's group and Zhao Mengtao as the leader of the trade union. Zhao Mengtao is three years older than Wu Guixian. At this time, Zhao Mengtao is already a national model worker, the eighth representative of the Party, and his stars are dazzling and radiant. Wu Guixian got along well with Zhao Mengtao, and asked for advice on textile production technology nearby to learn how to overcome textile technical difficulties. Wu Guixian still remembers those hot days. Unfortunately, however, Zhao Mengtao suddenly suffered from cancer. During her serious illness, the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee officially named her textile production team "Zhao Mengtao Group". At the naming ceremony presided over by the secretary of the provincial party Committee, Wu Guixian, the leader of the "Zhao Mengtao Group", spoke on behalf of the group and swore an oath.

The naming convention was held on April 27th, 1963, and Zhao Mengtao died on June 23rd. When the bad news came, Zhao Mengtao's sisters burst into tears. While wiping the rolling tears, Wu Guixian felt that with Zhao Mengtao gone, the burden on her own shoulders became heavier. To this end, she is more strict with herself and takes the lead in everything. But she knows that personal strength is limited and should unite all the sisters to carry the burden. Thanks to the concerted efforts of sisters Qi Xin, the group successfully completed the production task year after year, and was rated as an advanced model year after year. The production and management experience of the team of Northwest China Cotton Factory No.1, represented by Zhao Mengtao Group, spread throughout the national textile system at one time.

since 1958, Wu Guixian himself has been rated as an advanced worker and a model at the factory level every year, and has been rated as a "three-good student" and an "excellent student" for many times. In 1964 and 1966, he was selected twice in a row to attend the National Day ceremony in Beijing. In 1965, Wu Guixian attended the congress of advanced collectives and advanced workers on the northwest public transport front in the name of an individual and a representative of the Zhao Mengtao Group, and was rated as an advanced model of the national textile system. Wu Guixian is hard-working, kind-hearted, warm and kind-hearted, and is supported and loved by the broad masses. Soon, she was elected as the deputy director of Northwest China Cotton No.1 Factory.

In p>1966, when the "Cultural Revolution" broke out, some veteran cadres became "three evils" overnight, which Wu Guixian was puzzled by. When she went to Beijing to study, she always carefully recorded the speeches of Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou in her notebook. After returning to the unit, she tried to act in accordance with the policies of the CPC Central Committee and stop some excessive behaviors of the "rebels". In 1968, the rectification of the "Cultural Revolution" came to an end, and revolutionary committees began to be established in various places. Wu Guixian was promoted to the Revolutionary Committee of Shaanxi Province as a young cadre combining the old, the middle-aged and the young, and was elected as a member of the Central Committee at the ninth, tenth and eleventh national congresses of the Party.
