Can I call the police if the fire escape is locked?

According to the relevant laws and regulations of our country, if the fire exits in residential quarters are illegally occupied, the owners can complain to the property company or report to the fire department of the public security organ.

Article 17 of the Regulations on Fire Supervision and Inspection: When receiving reports and complaints about fire safety violations, the fire control institutions of public security organs shall promptly accept and register them and handle them in accordance with the provisions of Article 38 of the Procedures for Handling Administrative Cases by Public Security Organs.

Eighteenth fire control institutions of public security organs shall conduct on-site verification of fire safety violations reported and complained according to the following time limits:

(a) to report complaints about occupying, blocking, closing evacuation passages, safety exits or other acts that hinder safe evacuation, and to stop using fire control facilities without authorization, it shall be verified within 24 hours after receiving the complaints;

(2) Reports and complaints about fire safety violations other than those specified in the first paragraph of this paragraph shall be verified within three working days from the date of receiving the reports and complaints. After verification, the illegal acts of fire control safety shall be dealt with according to law, and the complainant shall be informed of the handling situation in time; If it cannot be informed, it shall be indicated in the acceptance registration.
