The business registration certificate of a Hong Kong company is equivalent to the tax registration certificate of a mainland company. The certificate reflects the company name, registered address, business nature and other effective information.

Brief introduction of business registration certificate:

All commercial organizations (whether limited companies, sole proprietorships or partnerships) must register with the Business Registration Office of the Inland Revenue Department, and registered enterprises must pay registration fees to obtain business registration certificates. According to the Hong Kong Business Registration Ordinance, anyone doing business in Hong Kong must apply for business registration within 1 month after starting business, and display a valid business registration certificate at the place of business. If the registration information is changed, the operator shall notify the Inland Revenue Department of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in writing within 1 month.

Application for business registration certificate:

Engage in any form of business, trade, craft, profession, occupation or other profit-making activities;

Clubs that provide facilities, services and special places for members to engage in social or recreational activities;

All limited companies established in Hong Kong under the Companies Ordinance, or limited companies that are not established in Hong Kong but have a place of business in Hong Kong, regardless of whether they actually carry on business in Hong Kong.

All non-Hong Kong registered limited companies that have representative offices or liaison offices in Hong Kong or lease properties in Hong Kong, regardless of whether they have a place of business in Hong Kong.

However, a person who only works for a position or employment will not be regarded as running a business, and there is no need to register.
