How to get rid of the hornet's nest
Honeycombs vary in size according to the location where they grow. It can be treated by chemical spraying, bagging, water attack, fire attack and smoking.
Chemical spraying method
Suitable for small beehives with a diameter below 10cm. This kind of beehive is small, and there are few wasps. When picking, after approaching the hive, spray pesticides such as mirex directly from the windward side of the hive to kill the bees scattered outside, and then spray pesticides inward through the hive outlet to kill all the bees, thus eradicating the hive.
Bagging method
Suitable for balconies, eaves, rooms with skylights and large single beehives under corners. Before picking, determine the picking path, prepare a cloth bag or plastic bag as big as a beehive, and do a good job of safety protection for the pickers. For smaller beehives, you can directly cover them with pockets from bottom to top. If the hive is too large, such as a large hive with a diameter of more than 50cm, there will be too many wasps inside, and a large number of wasps will fly out during the suit process, posing a threat to people around. You can seal the honeycomb with buttered newspapers and putty first. Usually, large beehives have multiple entrances and exits. Observe carefully before sealing, seal all at once after making full preparations, and then use a big pocket suit. After the installation is completed, use a sharp knife and shovel to cut off the bonding part between the honeycomb and the object, tie the bag mouth tightly, and transfer it to a safe place for processing.
Water hammer method
A wasp suitable for early spring. Water can wet the wings of bees and make them lose their attack power. Suitable for single or multiple beehives growing on tree tops, viaducts or inflammable and explosive places. You can also attack with water when picking. When using water attack method, it is necessary to ensure that onlookers leave the warning area, and it is forbidden for irrelevant personnel to run, make noise or shake trees or buildings with beehives during operation.
Firepower attack method
Suitable for places where it is not convenient to pick but open flames can be used. When picking, you should first scout and choose the fire attack method, tie the cotton yarn into the shape of a torch with a bamboo pole or a wooden stick, and soak a small amount of gasoline. Rescuers held a lighted torch and aimed it at the entrance of the hive until the torch burned out. Fire attack is a dangerous method, so be more careful when using it, otherwise it will easily lead to fire. Therefore, when burning a hornet's nest by fire attack, we must be 100% sure, otherwise this method will not be used.
Smoke method
Suitable for super-large honeycomb. Some beehives grow rapidly, and when they are found, they have grown into super-large beehives with a diameter of more than meters, containing millions of wasps. Blind cleaning will attack people and animals, so fumigation can be used for treatment. A lot of dead leaves, sawdust, etc. They are all piled under the honeycomb, so that the smoke generated after ignition covers the honeycomb. Wasps are naturally afraid of smoke. After a period of time, most of the wasps in the hive will suffocate and die, and the bees scattered outside will no longer approach the hive because of the smoke. At this time, the bag method is used to remove it.
The fire department reminds the general public that when encountering a hornet's nest, please ask the property department and other departments to help solve it or call the police in time, and don't dispose of it blindly, so as not to cause hornet's nest attacks and injuries.
