The Department of Engineering Management was formerly the Department of Management Engineering of South China Institute of Architecture. 1995 was set up independently, and 200 1 was renamed as engineering management department. The department currently has 18 faculty members, including 6 professors, 8 associate professors (8 tutors for master students), 3 lecturers, 4 teaching assistants 1 person, among whom more than 72% are teachers with master's degree or above. 1999 was rated as an excellent educational unit in Guangzhou. 13 people in this department were awarded the honorary title of advanced individual at or above the municipal level, and 12 people were appointed as the heads of academic groups of various national, provincial and municipal societies. Professor Pang Yongshi, the academic leader, is a member of the National Steering Committee of Engineering Management in Colleges and Universities, an outstanding teacher in South Guangdong, the first batch of top ten teachers in Guangzhou University and the first batch of famous teachers.

In 2003, the engineering management major sponsored by this department successfully passed the undergraduate teaching level evaluation of the Ministry of Construction, and was awarded as a famous brand major in Guangzhou in 2006. The department has successively presided over the excellent courses of the Ministry of Construction 1, provincial key courses 1, municipal excellent courses 1, two municipal excellent courses, two school-level excellent courses, school-level excellent courses 1 and four school-level key courses. The department set up a real estate management major in 1992 and a real estate management undergraduate major in 1993. There are three undergraduate majors in real estate management, property management and engineering cost, and more than 500 undergraduate and junior college graduates have been trained/kloc-0. There are 405 undergraduates, with rich and colorful practical activities and community activities, strong practical innovation ability and outstanding achievements. * * * won three first prizes and three second prizes in the three "Challenge Cup" competitions for college students in Guangdong Province, and won the third prize in the eighth and ninth "Challenge Cup" national extracurricular academic and scientific research works competitions in 2003 and 2005. The graduates of this department won the Guangzhou University Graduation Design Innovation Award 10 for five consecutive years, ranking among the best in all majors in the school, and the student "Real Estate Research Association" was rated as the top ten student associations of Guangzhou University twice in a row. Because the specialty setting meets the market demand, the employment rate of graduates of this department has remained above 98% for nine consecutive years. In order to meet the demand of modern society for talents in logistics management and e-commerce, as early as 2002, the School of Economics and Management opened the major of logistics management and e-commerce under the major of marketing, and enrolled students in Guangdong Province. E-commerce major and logistics management major were successfully declared in 2003 and 2004 respectively, and enrolled students in that year.

In 2003, the college adjusted and optimized its major, and merged logistics management, e-commerce and marketing into the marketing department. In 2006, logistics management and e-commerce were merged to form the current logistics department.

The department has 10 teachers, including professors 1 0, 3 associate professors and 5 lecturers. There are 2 doctors and 5 masters, and teachers with master's degree or above account for more than 77%; Won more than 30 awards at all levels (including 0 second prize and 2 third prize of 65438+ Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award); In the past five years, teachers in this department have published more than 10 textbooks (two textbooks for the 11th Five-Year Plan of the Ministry of Education, one for the chief editor and one for the deputy editor) and more than 1 00 papers. * * * undertakes 8 national, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects, more than 20 municipal scientific research projects, school-level and horizontal scientific research projects, and the scientific research funds reach more than 3 million yuan.

Professor Xie Ruhe, the doctoral supervisor of academic leaders, is an excellent teacher of the Ministry of Railways, a provincial-level training object of the "Thousand Hundred and Ten" project in Guangdong Province, and a provincial-level academic leader, enjoying the special government allowance of the State Council. He also held leadership positions in many important academic groups at home and abroad, and served as a member of the first teaching steering Committee of logistics specialty in colleges and universities of the Ministry of Education.

Students' social practice activities and community activities are rich and colorful, and their practical innovation ability is strong. The student's "Guangzhou University Town Internet Cafe" won the second prize of Guangdong Province in the 2006 College Students' Entrepreneurial Design Competition, and "Guangzhou Fresh Food Sales Logistics Safety Risk and Performance Evaluation" won the special prize of the 10th National Challenge Cup Competition of Guangzhou University.

Through the joint efforts of the college and all logistics teachers, the development of logistics department has made great progress. Under the auspices of Professor Xie Ruhe, the first domestic refrigerated logistics transportation condition simulation test platform has been built and put into use, which has reached the domestic leading and international first-class level on the whole. The logistics technology simulation experimental platform with domestic advanced level has also been built, and it has been applied in teaching and achieved good results.
