What do community workers mainly do?

Community workers support the leadership of the party and conscientiously implement the party's line, principles, policies and national laws and regulations; Conscientiously implement the resolutions and decisions of community members' assembly and community neighborhood committees, and do a good job in community affairs; Strengthen communication with units, residents' group leaders and residents' backbones in the jurisdiction, fully mobilize and give play to the role of residents' group leaders and residents' backbones, and actively complete various tasks.

Community workers refer to full-time staff who are employed by community workers service stations in various towns through certain selection procedures, take natural residential areas as the basic service areas, and provide various public services (collaborative governance) and other public welfare services for all kinds of people living in the community.

When we talk about community workers, we generally refer to the cadres of neighborhood committees. Community workers belong to the staff employed by township community workers service stations, not to civil servants or career establishment.

The working hours of social work stations in various regions are generally set flexibly according to the living habits of local residents, mainly for the convenience of residents. Generally, the system of normal commuting time plus duty is set. Usually, the normal office hours are not less than 8 hours a day and not less than 40 hours a week, and the duty hours in each region or each social work station are slightly different. Social workers in many areas are on duty on a voluntary basis.

It is clearly stipulated in Beijing's community management measures that Beijing plans to separate the administrative and service functions of community neighborhood committees and set up special community service stations. Community neighborhood committees will mainly undertake the functions of democratic autonomy, raising community public welfare funds and guiding property management. The community service station unifies the image identification, carries out the convenience public welfare service, and understands the social conditions and public opinion.
