Brief Introduction of Gao Changgong, King of Lanling County, Xuzhou, Northern Qi Dynasty: The Battle of Mangshan in Legend of Lanling Warriors

Introduction: Recently, the TV series "Warrior Lan Ling" is being broadcasted on TV, in which Gao Changgong, the Warrior Lan Ling, has always been a mysterious figure in history. As we all know, the history of the Northern Dynasties always gives people a sense of desolation, but the legendary warrior Lan Ling left a soft and handsome figure. A song "The Heroes of Lanling Break the Array" made the Heroes of Lanling famous in history, and its mysterious origin and beauty made people flock to it.

The Battle of Mangshan Behind the Legendary Dance Music

According to historical records, Gao Su was born in Lanling, a warrior, with filial piety, Chang Gong (about 54 1-573), a general in the Northern Qi Dynasty, in the first year (560), and Gao Su was the king of Lanling County in Xuzhou, known as Lanling, a warrior in the world. His life is neither magnificent nor wonderful. There are only more than 400 words recorded in the history books. Interestingly, in folk memory, the image of the warrior Lan Ling is surprisingly vivid.

One of the most legendary is that this handsome prince is so handsome that he wears a ferocious iron mask every time he takes the lead. This legend is vivid, but there is not enough evidence in the official history. So where did this serious legend come from? We don't know, but as early as the Tang Dynasty, this legend has been finalized. When Cui described the origin of Daimian (also known as bedding face) in Jiao Fangji, he recorded: "The Lanling samurai is respectful and brave, and looks like a woman. He felt that he was not strong enough, so he carved wood as a mask and chickened out. " In Duanan Festival's Yuefu Miscellanies, it is further interpreted as "with its beautiful posture, it is masked every time it enters the army, and then wins." In the official history, only after the great victory of Mangshan was mentioned, "The samurai's ballad is" Samurai Lanling enters the battle. " Xianbei people are good at singing and dancing, and the warrior Lan Ling is full of sound and emotion, and the music is quite harmonious. Therefore, it is reasonable for the sergeant to write words and compose music under the account, which will boost morale. According to historical records, the warrior Lan Ling only experienced two or three wars, and the famous "Mangshan Victory" was also won with the famous Northern Qi generals Duan Shao and Hu. The general who led this campaign was not him, but a Shao surnamed Duan.

In 564 AD, Yuwen Hu of the Northern Zhou Dynasty joined forces with the Turks to attack the Northern Qi Dynasty. Luoyang, an important town in the Northern Qi Dynasty, was surrounded by hundreds of troops in the Northern Zhou Dynasty. The Emperor of Northern Qi quickly mobilized troops to clear the way, first sending soldiers Gao Changgong and general Hu Lan Ling, and then sending Duan Shao, a surname, to join forces with him. After the Northern Qi joined forces, Zhong Jun, a soldier, waited for Zhou Jun condescendingly, and Zhou Jun's former team was a pawn, so he rushed to the mountain. Duan Shao cheated and lost, and introduced the deep valley. At first, he ordered all the troops to dismount and fight hard. At this time, Zhou Jun's spirit had failed, he collapsed instantly, or fell off a cliff or threw himself into the river, causing numerous casualties, and the rest fled. Gao Changgong, the warrior Lan Ling, led 500 knights, attacked from left to right, and rushed into the gate of Luoyang, holding hands. People in the city don't know who it is It was not until the Lanling samurai avoided it that he was encouraged by his own strength and sent hundreds of crossbowmen to meet the Lanling samurai. Zhou will not fight, so he will retreat from the surrounding area and give up the camp. From Mangshan to Shui Gu, there will be countless miles along the way. The bravery of the Lanling Heroes who went deep into the enemy lines gradually became famous all over the world with the interpretation of "The Lanling Heroes Enter the Battlefield". At that time, the Northern Qi military uniform was still red, while the Northern Zhou military uniform was still black. Just imagine that 500 red-robed armored fighters swept through the heavy array of the Northern Zhou Army like a flood, just like a dark cloud. How shocking this is. This battle, known as the "Great Victory of Mangshan Mountain" in history, ended in the overall victory of the Northern Qi army. As a result, the warrior Lan Ling became famous in the First World War, and he was promoted to the official rank from the secretariat of Bingzhou, and then boarded the political stage of the Northern Qi Dynasty.

The mysterious life behind beauty

During the performance of the famous Tang Dynasty song "The Heroes of Lanling Enter the Array", the actors who played the heroes of Lanling wore masks of "wearing purple clothes, tying gold around their waists and holding whips", singing and dancing, and made various gestures of commanding and stabbing. Its exaggerated masks are considered to be the origin of China opera masks. The impassioned theme of "The Warrior Lan Ling" was also moved into the military Nuo, and the military power was declared at the ceremony.

Today, the eyes and forehead of the mask can move in the music and dance of the Japanese samurai Lan Ling, which is influenced by the Nuo mask of the golden-eyed lion (dancing lion to exorcise evil spirits) since the Tang Dynasty.

However, the iconic mask of the warrior Lan Ling is actually clearly recorded as a helmet in the history books. History contains "faces that have long been respected and avoided." What is this? "Zhou" is a helmet with visor, which was popular in the Northern Qi Dynasty and can cover the face. It is not unique to the warrior Lan Ling. In the history books, soldiers equipped with "iron face" appeared in the Eastern Wei Dynasty, the Northern Qi Dynasty and the Western Wei Dynasty.
