Evolution of organizational system in Daishan County

From the Tang Dynasty to the late Qing Dynasty, Penglai was the hometown. Daishan is located on an island. In ancient times, property was destroyed and people settled less. In addition, it is not easy to join the border, and the county has a short history.

In 38 years of the Republic of China (1949), more than 30,000 Kuomintang military and political personnel fled from the mainland to Daishan Islands. In July, due to the current situation and environment, the Kuomintang Zhejiang Provincial Government set Wengzhou County (from Dinghai County), with the county government in Gaoxian Temple east of Gaoting Town and Daishan as the county.

1950, Daishan was liberated, Wengzhou County was revoked and returned to Dinghai County.

1June, 964, the organizational system of Daqu County was abolished, and the jurisdiction was merged into Daishan County and Shengsi County respectively. Daishan county government is still located in Renmin road, Gaoting town, which continues to this day.
