Shaoguan area starts from Jiezhi Village, Jiezhi Town, Nanxiong City in the east and ends at Ya gao ling cun, sanxi town, Lechang City in the west, with a straight-line span of about186.3km from east to west. It reaches Sanjiewai Village, Baishi Town, Lechang City in the north and Xialu Village, Matou Town, Xinfeng County in the south, with a north-south span of about 173.4 km. The northwest and northeast are bordered by Chenzhou City, Hunan Province and Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province; It is connected with Heyuan City in the southeast, Qingyuan City in the southwest and Guangzhou and Huizhou City in the south.

Shaoguan is located in the north of Guangdong Province, bordering Hunan in the north, Jiangxi in the east, Heyuan, Huizhou, Guangzhou and Qingyuan in the southeast, south and west respectively. In geological history, it is an intermittent rising area, with strong flowing water erosion, resulting in many canyons, steep mountains and planation planes at all levels, mainly mountainous and hilly landforms. From north to south, three rows of arc mountain systems are arranged in an arc protruding to the south, which constitutes the basic landscape pattern of northern Guangdong: Ling Wei and Dayuling Mountains in the north are 140 km long; It is listed as Dadong Mountain and Yaoling Mountain, with a length of 250 kilometers; The south is listed as Weishan and Qingyun Mountain, with a length of 270 kilometers. There are two valley basins: Nanxiong Basin, Renhua Dong Tang Basin, Shi Ping Basin, Lechang Basin, Shaoguan Basin and Wengyuan Basin. The hills and terraces formed by the red rock series are widely distributed and have obvious characteristics. Renhua Danxia Mountain area is famous for its unique red rock landform. It is a typical "Danxia landform" in China, covering an area of about 280 square kilometers. The mountains are in a peak forest structure with more than 600 strange peaks and rocks. Nanxiong and Shipingping basins belong to red rock type, Nanxiong basin has a vast area, and the rock strata are rich in paleontological fossils. The whole city has undulating mountains, towering peaks and widely distributed middle and low mountains. The northern part is the highest in the province, located in Shikenggan at the junction of Ruyuan, Yangshan and Hunan Province, with an altitude of1.902m, making it the first peak in Guangdong. The southern part is low, and the lowest sea level in the urban area is 35 meters. Shaoguan belongs to subtropical humid monsoon climate zone with pleasant climate.

Affected by the monsoon all year round, the northeast monsoon prevails in winter and the southwest and southeast monsoon prevails in summer. The four seasons are characterized by continuous rain in spring, less precipitation in autumn, cold in winter and hot in summer. The annual average temperature is18.8℃-210.6℃, the highest in Leng Yue (65438+ 10/0) is 8℃-1℃, and the hottest month (July) is 28℃-29. There is abundant rainfall, with an annual average rainfall of 1400-2400mm, with rainy season from March to August and dry season from September to February. Solar radiation with daily average temperature above 10℃ accounts for 90% of the total radiation in the whole year. Light energy, temperature and precipitation are well coordinated, and rain and heat are basically in the same season, which is beneficial to plant growth and agricultural production. The frost-free period of the whole year is about 3 10 days, and the annual sunshine time is 1473- 1925 hours. There is snowfall every year in the northern towns and villages.
