According to the school official website, in March, 2020, Harbin Institute of Technology participated in 14 of 16 national major science and technology projects, and achieved a number of significant landmark achievements in the fields of aerospace, robotics, small satellites, equipment manufacturing, new energy and new materials.

The school has successfully developed and launched "Experiment No.1", "Experiment No.3", "Kuaizhou No.1", "Kuaizhou No.2" and "Lilac No.2" satellites, setting a record of five consecutive victories in the research and development of small satellites in domestic universities.
