The doors of tall buildings can't be locked.

First of all, the "safety exit" leading to the roof of the building can generally reach the elevator room of the unit, with ventilation pipes, lightning rods and other equipment. According to relevant regulations, the fence on the roof of a building should be no less than 1. 1 m.

Secondly, from the ownership point of view, the stairwell and roof platform of residential buildings belong to the public area of the residents of the building, and all residents of the building enjoy the right to use together. If it is necessary to use or transform the rooftop of the top floor, it must be approved by the owner of the building, and the property management company cannot dispose of it at will.

However, Article 28 of the Fire Protection Law clearly stipulates that "no unit or individual may occupy, block or close evacuation passages, fire exits and fire truck passages". It is obviously illegal to lock the door on the roof. Once locked, it will face the result of warning or punishment.

Article 5.5.26 of Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings (version 20 18) stipulates that: in residential buildings with a building height of more than 27 meters but not more than 54 meters, when each unit is equipped with evacuation stairs, the evacuation stairs should lead to the roof, and the evacuation stairs between units should be connected through the roof, and the doors should adopt Class B fire doors.

Therefore, property companies should strengthen supervision and safety tips, such as installing monitoring equipment on the roof and setting warning signs in eye-catching positions. Once children are found playing alone on the roof or having hidden dangers of falling objects from high altitude, they can promptly inform the staff to be present to discourage and stop them, so as to reduce accidents.
