Legal basis:

Article 1254 of the Civil Code of People's Republic of China (PRC) prohibits throwing objects from buildings. In case of the circumstances specified in the first paragraph of this article, the public security organ and other organs shall promptly investigate and find out the responsible person according to law.

Article 291bis of the Criminal Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), if the circumstances are serious, shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than one year, criminal detention or public surveillance, and shall also or only be fined.

Whoever commits the acts mentioned in the preceding paragraph and constitutes other crimes shall be convicted and punished in accordance with the provisions of heavier punishment.
