Precautions for waterproofing of bathroom decoration

Generally speaking, it is necessary to check whether all sewers are unobstructed before renovation. If it is not smooth, you can contact the property to clear it. In the process of construction, the nozzle of the sewer must be blocked (bound) with items that will not fall, so as to prevent sundries from falling into the sewer and blocking the sewer during construction.

Toilet waterproofing

The waterproof of the bathroom must be done well. The bathroom should be waterproof, and the surrounding walls should be painted at a height of not less than 30 cm. If there is a shower, the height of waterproof coating should not be lower than 150 cm, preferably around 180 cm when installing the shower faucet and the adjacent wall.

Closed water test

After waterproofing is completed, do a closed water test. That is, put water on the floor of the bathroom, so that the floor is completely immersed in water for about 3~4 cm, and set a fixed elevation (horizontal plane); After 24 hours, if the water level is lower than the set elevation, it means that there is water seepage on the ground, that is, waterproofing is not done well. This needs to be re-waterproof.

Cement-based waterproof material

Toilet waterproof paint should be pasted with tiles after brushing, and it should be brushed with cement-based waterproof materials. Cement-based waterproof materials can be bonded with cement-based materials, with good adhesion, and will not shell after sticking ceramic tiles. Other (non-cement-based) waterproof materials are easy to shell, which will lead to wall tiles falling off.
