Historical evolution of Yuhuatai District;

Yuhuatai District is named after Yuhuatai, which was piled up by the ancient Yangtze River and its tributary, the ancient Qinhuai River, two or three million years ago. According to legend, Master Guang Yun, a monk of the Liang Dynasty, set up an altar here to give lectures, making ghosts cry and falling flowers like rain, hence the name Yuhuatai.

1955, Yuhuatai District, the 11th district of Nanjing was established. In the same year, in 12, the Nanjing Municipal People's Government applied to the State Council and decided to transfer Shuangzha Township, Xishanqiao Township, Tiexinqiao Township, Banqiao Township, Shazhou Township, Jiangdongmen Township, Honghua Township, Ningnan Township and Shimenkan Township in Jiangning County from the southwest.

On July 20 12, the street division in Yuhuatai District was adjusted, and Ningnan Sub-district Office and Yuhua New Village Sub-district Office merged to form "Yuhua Street".

Taking Yuhua South Road as the boundary, the former Yuhua New Village street area north of Yuhua South Road is classified into the newly established Yuhua Street, and the former Yuhua New Village street area south of Yuhua South Road is classified into Saihongqiao Street. Yuhuatai District governs six streets: Yuhua, Tiexin Bridge, Banqiao, Xishan Bridge, Saihongqiao and Meishan.
