The story of the owner
This is also a well-known thing.
People who appreciate this car often talk about its super power and extremely low use cost under pure electric conditions; People who hate this car often ridicule the poor performance of the power system under the feed condition, and the handling level is "straight line king, corner death"
I bought BYD Tang's flagship model on 20 16. At that time, the guide price subsidized 2 19800, plus the insurance cost of about 8,000 yuan. Finally, I paid the full amount of about 228,000 yuan, and gave four maintenance and 6,000 yuan oil card.
At present, the car has been used for nearly four years, and the advantages and disadvantages are summarized as follows, which only represents the personal car experience:
Advantages:
1, remote unlocking, air conditioning and other cloud service functions are very practical;
2. Under the charging condition, the later cost is extremely low;
3. Strong power, stable power output, no need to feed;
4. Rich configuration and complete passive safety configuration;
5. There is plenty of space in the car and rich storage space;
6. it feels good to turn
Disadvantages:
1, the ergonomic design is unreasonable, and the long-term driving comfort of tall people is not good;
2, the chassis is soft, the front is more serious, and the cornering side is more obvious;
3. The central control car is WinCE system instead of Android, and its function is seriously limited;
4.NVH level is poor;
5、? The stability of feeding state and energy utilization efficiency need to be improved;
6、? The exterior design is behind the times, and the interior materials are good but lack of design sense.
Six advantages
When considering the advantages, I think like this: if I change cars in the future, which configuration is unacceptable, and this feature is rarely available in the same class.
Super power?
BYD Tang doesn't have much motivation for the same price model at this level, but as the saying goes, "There are no meat carts, only meat people". I have also driven many other brands of cars in my working relationship. According to my personal experience, most new cars with A+ class and above on the market have enough power as long as they are willing to give floor oil, which is far from unbearable.
More spacious interior space?
With my height of 190cm, I really can't stand the narrow interior space. However, there are not a few spaces with similar or even larger prices.
Lower operating cost under pure electricity conditions?
My next car must be pure electric, and the choices are quite rich.
Unlimited number, unlimited number?
This is a favorable policy, not an advantage of the car itself.
After thinking about it, the function that can't be tolerated after missing is not high in the same level. It turned out to be a cloud service.
The temperature inside the car is high in summer, and the old driver knows the pain of getting on the bus. Especially for vehicles parked in the sun, the steering wheel and seat are not hot, but hot. I once had a black car exposed by the company on a hot day, and the experience was even more sour. Winter is relatively better, but the cold inside the car in late winter in the north is unbearable. Especially in the daily urban traffic scene, if the air conditioner is turned on, the temperature often reaches normal before reaching the destination.
With cloud services, as long as you remember to turn on the air conditioner in advance, getting on the bus is a comfortable temperature and the experience is improved too much.
In addition, an extreme case I personally experienced also made me pay more attention to cloud services.
Once the whole family stopped at the expressway service area to rest and go to the toilet during a road trip, leaving their car keys and everyone's mobile phones in the car. When I got back to the car, I found that my family accidentally locked the car through the keyless entry button outside the car. (Later, I checked that the key can't be locked in the car, but if the signal is not very good, this situation may still happen. Users of major brands have reported similar phenomena. )
Because at that time, in the high-speed service area, if you change to an ordinary model, you can only call for help or simply smash the car glass.
My final solution is to borrow the mobile phone from the staff in the service area, download and install the cloud service APP, enter the account password, and successfully unlock the vehicle.
Later, I encountered some special circumstances, such as a friend borrowing a car, so I unlocked it through the cloud service, avoiding the trouble of long-distance travel. And I can't remember whether I can take out my cell phone when I lock the car. If I really don't lock it, I can control it remotely.
When changing cars in the future, I will never consider not being able to remotely control unlocked and air-conditioned models.
Next, talk about the cost of car use. Everyone knows the advantages of plug-in hybrid. If it can be recharged, it is cheaper than using oil.
The fuel consumption is not low when you are fully fed. I measured the fuel consumption of 9- 10L expressway and 10- 13L urban area. But in fact, my daily urban traffic is almost all pure electric mode, and occasionally I don't feed at high speed, so the comprehensive fuel consumption is very low.
At present, the mileage is nearly 40,000 kilometers, and the APP shows the energy consumption per 100 kilometers 18.9kWh+2.8 liters of oil.
Private piles use civil electricity, and the electricity meter can charge two or three hundred in a few months, and the electricity fee can be basically ignored. Regarding the gas money, let me put it this way: I gave a gas card of 6000 yuan when I bought a car, and I didn't use it up until last year, that is, three years after I bought a car.
In addition, when I bought a car, I gave it four maintenance times, and Lao Tang's maintenance cycle was unusually long. So apart from insurance and fines, this car basically didn't cost any money.
Talk about motivation. Personally, I think that as far as the car demand of most people in China is concerned, the importance of control is not prominent. After all, few people get off the track, and few people drive in the city without slowing down. What most people really need is the motivation to overtake and merge quickly.
In this respect, the ride comfort and dynamic response speed of pure electricity are indeed inherent advantages compared with internal combustion engines.
There are two modes of Lao Tang's motivation: ecology (economy) and sports (sports). The measured ECO mode is already quite strong, and the sports mode has excessive power. I even think BYD should set the existing ECO mode to normal mode, and then calibrate the output with weak power to ECO mode. For most people, I think a little weaker motivation is absolutely enough and can save energy.
Moreover, Lao Tang's performance in mixed state is not as unbearable as some people say.
Non-feeding state (residual power >; 15%), the switching between the motor and the internal combustion engine is relatively smooth, and the problem of double clutch starting is avoided at the same time, and the ride comfort is quite good. The power decreases in the feed state, but it is still good in the same class. Feedback energy to feel the frustration of double clutch, and the sense of irregularity is aggravated. After several upgrades, it has been optimized, but it has not been completely solved.
In terms of comfort configuration, I personally think that panoramic sunroof, seat heating, one-button start/keyless entry are more practical.
The panoramic image is a little distorted, and the definition is low at night, but overall the usability is good.
There is a car at the rear air outlet, so I don't have to say much about it, but I still envy the adaptive cruise of the second generation of Tang Dynasty. The radar and panoramic images of the front and rear cars are quite practical, especially for novice drivers.
Digital tire pressure monitoring is great, and ESP is standard in the whole system. The main airbag, passenger airbag, head airbag, side airbag ... airbags can be said to be all on, and the price is really not much.
Over the years, people have deeply understood the importance of indoor space. Especially after having children, it is no problem to install child safety seats in the back row and sit two adults.
In addition, the front leather seats are comfortable and the storage compartment of the door is convenient. The rear platform is flat, the trunk is spacious, and the rear seats support 4/6 ratio, which is almost flat after being laid down. In the past few years, it is interesting to think that the trunk has been pulled through tiles, sofas, electric cars and elliptical machines.
There is a virtual steering position, which is far from accurate control, but in general, Tang's electronic power steering is relatively stable and calm. Lightweight, stable and smooth, and it feels good to drive. When driving in the same direction, there is no situation that some models with the same price have no sense of road.
Others have some small advantages, such as: strong four-wheel drive capability, basically not worried about bad road conditions; The sound was outstanding in the same level in that year, and the sound quality was quite good; Remote parking in narrow parking spaces is indeed practical; 220V reverse power supply is suitable for going to road trip and so on, so I won't go into details one by one.
Six shortcomings
Next, talk about shortcomings, first talk about ergonomics. This problem is rarely mentioned in online car reviews, but it is the most obvious shortcoming I feel as a car owner.
Of course, I am 190cm tall and really sensitive to space. With my height, if I adjust to a more extended sitting position, most models will have the problem of insufficient vertical height of the interior space.
Lao Tang's spatial performance is not bad at the same level. However, with Tang's size and wheelbase, the performance of comfort should be better than now. Personally, I feel that there are two aspects that hold me back.
On the one hand, the chassis is thicker as a whole, which reduces the vertical height inside the car. This not only compresses the front head space, but also makes the height of the rear seats lower and tends to be a "small bench". Fortunately, the longitudinal space of the rear legs is relatively ample, and for most people, the front and rear rows are more comfortable.
On the other hand, the central control part is huge and occupies the front leg space. In particular, the chrome-plated decorative strip protruding below the front center control further squeezes the knee space.
In order to facilitate your understanding, I specially took a photo:
Except for the buttons on the chrome-plated strips in the central control section, the chrome-plated strips on both sides of the main driver and the co-driver simply don't see any practical significance.
For a tall man like me, the chrome-plated strip of the main driver is just on the knee, further squeezing the leg space. I'm not the only one who feels this problem, so it was revised in the early Tang Dynasty.
Next, let's talk about chassis adjustment. The soft chassis is comfortable for daily driving, but the actions of starting and slowing down can easily lead to the phenomenon of nodding and looking up.
If you want to ensure the comfort of the occupants in the car, you need to be careful and step on the accelerator and brake slowly in daily driving, which actually limits the dynamic performance of the whole car. When driving at high speed, the soft chassis also causes the car body to shake up and down easily, lacking a sense of advanced.
Because the battery is at the bottom, rollover is suppressed to some extent. Personally, I think this aspect is better than the SUV at the same price. However, when driving fiercely, the soft chassis has insufficient confidence in cornering and does not match the power.
As far as cars are concerned, BYD Tang generation can meet the basic functions, but the level of intelligence is completely different from the current mainstream Android central control.
Moreover, the navigation interface of the car is rough and it is very difficult to update. So far, the car has never used its own navigation. Fortunately, you can connect to mobile navigation via Bluetooth, and you can't see the picture. In fact, it is ok to have voice prompts.
In addition, you can copy the music to the SD card and play it in the car, which is also good, but it is more convenient to connect to your mobile phone Bluetooth to listen to songs every day. Other applications are better than nothing, and there is basically no playability, which wastes the central control screen. There are also many people who spit this out. Many riders modified and installed the central control themselves, and in the medium term, they changed to Android central control.
The environmental sound insulation and road noise performance is good, which is basically the level of the joint venture B-class car at that time. Engine noise is quite annoying, the noise is not big, but the sound is medium frequency, the hearing is poor, and the subjective feeling is abrupt. At the same time, the motor noise control is not ideal, and the howling is obvious. High-speed wind noise is also high, and wind noise can be felt when the speed is above 90km/h; When the speed is above 1 10km, the wind noise is quite obvious, so the volume of playing songs has to be increased; When the vehicle speed is above 140km, people's speech will be affected, so the volume must be increased. Generally speaking, NVH level is weaker than competitors at the same price, and it is not as good as Toyota's hybrid models.
BYD's driving force in Tang Dynasty is good, but the ride comfort of dual clutch is not perfect. Combined with the noise problem of the engine, the overall driving experience is significantly lower than that of pure electricity.
In addition, because the thermal efficiency of BYD engine and the energy management of hybrid system are not ideal, the fuel consumption in the feed state is really not low. According to my personal measurement, the footwork is slightly unconstrained, driven by pure feed, and the oil consumption in urban areas in winter is about 1 1- 12L.
Personally, I never recommend users who have no charging conditions to buy new energy vehicles, especially the old BYD Tang. This is not only because of the driving experience and fuel consumption, but also because of the battery life. If the plug-in tram runs as an ordinary tanker for a long time, I think it may cause the battery to cycle repeatedly in the process of discharging-charging, thus affecting the battery life.
Since I used the car, I have a lot of pure electric mileage, and I can hardly feel the battery attenuation. There are also examples of riders who have been driving for more than two years in 4S stores.
In fact, there is nothing to say about the appearance, and everyone is spitting. In terms of interior decoration, the version I bought has been adjusted, and the general effect is as follows:
Compared with the same level products of independent brands, this interior really lacks a sense of design, but it is acceptable. Look at the earlier 15 mahogany interior. Personally, I really can't bear to look directly at it.
There are some other minor shortcomings that are not obvious in use, mainly: insufficient lightweight, and the whole vehicle is 2.3 tons overweight; The sheet metal process is backward and the assembly level is poor; The front and rear of the car are long and the turning radius is large.
Endurance and charging
Finally, pay attention to battery life.
First of all, it should be reminded that the battery life of the old Tangchun battery is 80km, which means that the battery life from 0% to 100% is about 80km, but in fact, if the power is lower than 15%, the hybrid mode will be forced to start. Therefore, the actual endurance of Lao Tang is 80 * 85% = 68 km.
Reflected in the battery, Lao Tang used a lithium iron phosphate battery with a capacity of about 17 degrees. Until 20 17, the model was changed in the middle of Tang dynasty, and both Tang 100 and Tang 80 were replaced by ternary lithium batteries. After the mid-term change, the capacity of Tang 80 battery was increased to 18.4 degrees, which truly realized the 80km battery life under pure electric conditions.
My own feeling is that BYD Tang's battery life is still relatively real as far as my car is concerned.
The theoretical endurance in non-winter is 68km, and the actual endurance even exceeds. I tested it when I picked up the car in the first year. Even in the summer when the air conditioner is always on, I often drive 70km in normal driving, and in some cases even exceed it. What impressed me the most was a hot weather, and the passengers kept the air conditioner on. However, due to the constant driving distance on the urban expressway, the measured cruising range is close to 80km.
In winter, it is almost inevitable that the battery life will shrink because of the poor low temperature performance of lithium ferrous phosphate. It is also the test of the first year of picking up the car. Unless the temperature is below MINUS five degrees, it is basically no problem to turn on the air conditioner for 40-50 kilometers in winter. What impressed me the most was that a passenger kept the air conditioner on when the temperature was about 5 degrees. It is also because a large number of distances are driving at a constant speed, and finally the pure endurance reaches 58 kilometers. It should be noted that in the case of multiple short-distance driving in winter, the vehicle will arrive at the destination shortly after turning on the air-conditioned hot car. This will cause the vehicle to turn on the air-conditioned hot car repeatedly, and the energy consumption will increase a lot compared with a complete trip.
If you drive an air-conditioned hot car in advance through cloud services as I do, the energy consumption will explode. In my impression, the highest power consumption exceeds 100 km 40 degrees.
My family has private piles, so I don't care about this energy consumption when I go to work. Without private piles, it is estimated that it will be even worse. So once again, plug-in is more dependent on charging than pure electricity. It is not recommended to buy plug-ins without charging conditions.
What surprised me most was the life of the battery. I haven't felt any obvious attenuation since I picked up the car.
A few months ago, the battery life in spring could reach about 70km.
Considering that quite a lot of my daily mileage is pure electricity, this attenuation situation is very satisfactory. What's more, there is little difference between a few kilometers more and a few kilometers less in daily commuting. I have been testing the cruising range from time to time for the past two years, occasionally in the third year, and basically finished the test in the fourth year.
However, here is another reminder:
Physical characteristics make the discharge voltage of lithium ferrous phosphate too long and too flat, which makes it difficult to manage product consistency. However, the overall performance of the power battery pack has a barrel effect, and the balance of the battery is very important. Maybe I was lucky and met a balanced battery. Moreover, I often charge, and rarely drive in the feed state for a long time, which may be one of the reasons why the battery attenuation is not obvious. There are many examples of drivers who have been driving for more than two years in 4S stores.
In terms of charging time, plug-in hybrid vehicles generally only support slow charging, and Lao Tang is no exception.
It takes about 5.5-6 hours for a wall-hanging pile with a charging power of 3kw to be fully charged, which is basically the same as the official time. When you buy a car, a three-way charging plug is attached, just find a patch panel to charge it. However, the charging power in this way is low, only 1.7kw, and it takes ten hours to fully charge.
By the way, the key to installing charging piles lies in the residential power grid and the property management.
Everyone knows about the property. It is emphasized that not all parking spaces can be equipped with charging piles at present. The key depends on whether the power grid conditions of the community allow it.
For example, in my community, some car owners have no ability to install new ones after installing charging piles, so they can only wait for the transformation of the power grid.
So, if possible, install it as soon as possible. As long as there is a parking space, the property agrees and conditions permit, the wiring of the state grid and the installation of charging piles by BYD are basically free.
The car experience is basically these, and the other two digressions:
Whether it is a pure tram or a smart car, the first thing is the car, and the mechanical quality is still very important.
As far as my personal observation is concerned, the mechanical quality of BYD Dynasty series is basically improved every time a new car is pushed: from Qin Dynasty to Tang Dynasty to Song Dynasty, the mechanical quality has been continuously improved. The second generation of Tang Dynasty (Tang DM) is a leap in all directions, and the problems of the old Tang mentioned in this paper have basically been greatly improved. In Song Pro, all aspects of mechanical quality have developed to a perfect level.
This phenomenon of "better models" shows that BYD has made rapid progress, but this is not the normal rhythm of technical iteration. Enterprises with mature and stable product lines generally use the latest, most advanced and most expensive technologies in high-end flagship products; Later, with the maturity of technology and the decline of cost, new technologies will be gradually decentralized to low-end products.
At present, BYD Yuan, Qin/Song, Qin Pro/ Song Pro and Han/Tang product lines are basically complete. So personally, what BYD really needs to do is to popularize the mechanical quality of Song Pro to all models as soon as possible. New technologies, including blade batteries and autonomous driving, should be first applied to flagship models such as Han/Tang, and then gradually decentralized, thus forming a stable and reliable update iteration.
