What should a puppy do if he eats pesticides by mistake?

If the situation is light, send it to the hospital, and if it is serious, take certain economic measures first.

The temperature in spring has obviously increased a lot, and the relatively mild climate also provides very favorable living conditions for parasites. Grassland is the place where dogs are mainly infected with parasites, but many communities regularly spray pesticides on the grassland in spring to prevent too many parasites. Therefore, car owners must pay attention. It is best not to take dogs to drill in the grass in the near future, lest dogs like to bite people and eat pesticide-treated grass by mistake, thus poisoning them.

General organophosphorus pesticides include trichlorfon, dimethoate, dichlorvos, phosphorus trichloride and malathion. When dogs are poisoned, they will be excited and anxious at first, and muscle spasms will occur in light cases, and convulsions will occur in severe cases. When the muscles of the limbs are clonic, the sick dog frequently steps, and when lying on his back, he does swimming. In severe cases, pupil contraction is linear. In addition, dogs may drool a lot, shed tears, have abdominal pain, have loud bowel sounds, have constant diarrhea, and even have incontinence. In the late stage of severe illness, bowel sounds weaken or even disappear. Sweat drips all over the body, especially around the chest, perineum and scrotum. The body temperature rises, breathing is obviously difficult, the heartbeat is accelerated, the pulse is weak, the conjunctiva is cyanotic, and finally it suffocates and dies. When the poisoning dose is light, blood may be drawn after 12 ~ 24 hours.

Try not to let dogs run on the grass in spring.

How to deal with poisonous dogs?

If it is for emergency, people have an indigenous way to fill it with soapy water. If the situation is not particularly serious, then it is best to send it to the hospital in time. Generally, atropine sulfate is injected slowly intravenously at a dose of 0.05 mg/kg body weight. After an interval of 6 hours, atropine sulfate was injected subcutaneously or intramuscularly at a dose of 0. 1.5 mg/kg body weight. When the dog has dry mouth, dilated pupils, steady breathing and rapid heartbeat, it can stop taking the medicine. For severe cases, atropine should be combined with phosphoryl iodide and phosphoryl chloride. Phosphoxime iodide and phosphodine chloride are cholinesterase reactivating agents, but they have poor curative effect on the above pesticide poisoning and must be used together with atropine. The dose of pralidoxime iodide is 20 mg/kg body weight each time, and it is injected intravenously. If necessary, repeat every 12 hours. The dose of pralidoxime chloride is 20 mg/kg body weight each time. The effect of bisphosphonate on blood-brain barrier is similar to that of atropine, and the dose is 15 ~ 30 mg/kg body weight each time. However, some dogs are allergic to pralidoxime iodide and pralidoxime chloride, which should be paid attention to. In addition, diphenhydramine, 1 ~ 4 mg/kg, can be taken orally, three times a day, mainly used in cases of muscle spasm and tremor.

Keeping a dog in spring is very important to prevent pesticide poisoning. Generally speaking, if the lawn in the community is sprayed with pesticides, the property will notify in advance. But if you don't hear it yourself, the dog may be poisoned. Therefore, if there is nothing serious, don't take the dog into the grass, which will not only increase the chance of the dog being infected with parasites, but also increase the risk of the dog being poisoned. Usually, you can walk your dog on the road. In case the dog accidentally eats pesticides, you should first judge whether emergency measures are needed when corresponding symptoms appear. If the performance is not very serious, you can take the dog to the hospital for treatment. Don't think about it if it's not serious.
