In recent years, Jiujiang University, as a local undergraduate university, attaches great importance to drawing nourishment from history and culture. On the basis of in-depth excavation and study of local culture, extensive research activities have been carried out around the politics, history, religion, culture, architecture and art of Lushan and northern Jiangxi, becoming an influential research center inside and outside the province and making due contributions to the economic, social and cultural development of Jiujiang.

Excavate regional cultural resources and form influential research institutions. Jiujiang is a famous cultural city with profound historical and cultural heritage. Jiujiang College is honored for its in-depth study of historical and cultural relics and historical and cultural celebrities. Among them, Tao Yuanming's research, Zhou Dunyi's research, Huang Tingjian's research, Lushan's tourism architectural culture research and Jiujiang's historical and cultural research have all achieved rich research results. In 2008, Lushan Cultural Research Center officially became the key research base of humanities and social sciences in colleges and universities in Jiangxi Province, which made the study of Lushan Culture in Jiujiang University reach a new level. The center consists of Bailudong Academy Culture Research Institute, Tao Yuanming Research Institute, Qingyang Opera Research Institute, Lushan Tourism Culture Research Institute, Lushan Religious Culture Research Institute, Jiujiang Intangible Culture Research Institute and Lushan Architectural Culture Research Institute. Relying on the existing disciplines and human resources of Jiujiang University, we hired a group of influential and well-known experts, launched a series of research results, and carried out multi-level academic and cultural exchanges. It has become an influential research center inside and outside the province.

Highlight the regional cultural characteristics and launch a series of research products. In 2006, the Lushan Cultural Research Center specially set up the editorial board of "Lushan Cultural Research Series", edited and published the "Lushan Cultural Research Series", and published 4-5 academic monographs written by full-time and part-time researchers in the research center every year, forming a characteristic research pattern of Lushan Cultural Research. The contents of this series include special studies on Lushan culture, far-reaching studies on Tao Yuanming, studies on ancient academies and education, studies on Torin Temple and religion, and non-academic studies. In the past three years, Lushan Cultural Research Center has published more than 20 key research articles in core journals, and won more than one scientific research project 10 at or above the provincial level.

Carry out academic exchanges at home and abroad, and Lushan culture will go global. Since the establishment of Lushan Cultural Research Center, a series of pioneering work has been done around the research and development of Jiujiang local culture. On the one hand, we rely on our own research strength to carry out academic research and cooperate with various research institutions and administrative departments; On the other hand, carry out extensive academic exchanges and promote Lushan culture at home and abroad. In 2007, Lushan Cultural Research Center and Bailudong Academy jointly established the Bailudong Academy Cultural Research Institute of Jiujiang University, and doctoral and master students from dozens of universities at home and abroad came to study and exchange.

With the strong support of the college leaders, Lushan Cultural Research Center actively carries out cultural protection and cultural construction activities with local governments: building Qingyang Opera Center with Hukou County Government, and establishing Qingyang Opera Art Heritage Base and Qingyang Opera Art Exhibition Hall in cooperation; Establish Ruichang paper-cutting inheritance training base with Ruichang municipal government. At the same time, the local intangible culture exhibition hall will be established to display the intangible culture such as Hukou Caolong, Xing Zi Yantai and Ruichang paper-cutting, and continue to explore, study and protect Jiujiang local culture. In 2008, the case of "Marriage between universities and local governments to protect and inherit the intangible cultural heritage-Jiujiang University vigorously carries out the protection activities of Jiujiang local intangible cultural heritage" recommended by the school won the "Innovation Award for Propaganda and Ideological Work in the whole province", becoming one of the first batch of 10 award-winning units in the province and the only unit in Jiujiang City to receive this honor.

Lushan Cultural Research Center also organized an international seminar on Tao Yuanming, and held two "International High-level Forums on Dragon and Lion Culture" in cooperation with the Propaganda Department of the Municipal Party Committee, the Cultural Bureau and the Sports Bureau, which improved Jiujiang's popularity in the world. The reference room of Lushan Cultural Research Center has more than 20,000 kinds of books, covering religions, literature, history, folk customs and other disciplines related to the research direction of the base. And there are original documents related to Lushan culture, such as rubbings, manuscripts, genealogy, etc. It provides convenience for further research and development.
