Putian No.2 Middle School, referred to as "Putian No.2 Middle School" or "No.2 Middle School", is a full-time public complete middle school directly under Putian Education Bureau. The school, formerly known as Peiyuan Academy, was founded in 1878, and later renamed as "Xingxian Philosophy Chinese and Western School" and "Philosophy Middle School". 1952 was renamed as "Putian No.2 Middle School" and has been in use ever since.

Putian No.2 Middle School ranks among the first-class standard schools of ordinary high schools in Fujian Province, and was selected as the first batch of demonstration high school construction schools in Fujian Province, and was named the second national civilized campus.
