The Fourth Nuclear Research Institute is a state-owned enterprise. The Fourth Nuclear Research and Design Engineering Co., Ltd. (formerly the Fourth Nuclear Research and Design Institute, hereinafter referred to as the Fourth Nuclear Research and Design Institute) is located in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. Founded in 1958, it was renamed as Hesi Research and Design Engineering Co., Ltd. in 2009. The Fourth Institute of Nuclear Engineering is the main unit of consulting and designing uranium mining and metallurgy in China, the only uranium mining and metallurgy engineering company in China, and one of the 36 core competence units of the military nuclear materials and nuclear fuel cycle scientific research and production capacity system of the National Nuclear Corporation.
