A spokesman for the Buildings Department said that the unauthorized building works of House 5A on Jordan Road were located in the ground courtyard and rooftop respectively, and the terrace on the first floor of the property had been closed. House No.7 on Yoyo Road involves the illegal construction of a basement with an area of about 2,247 feet (length 1 1 m, width 19 m) and a height of about 3.5 m; Glass windows were installed at the bottom of the swimming pool, and a bridge was illegally built under the house, connecting the first floor of 5A Mansion.
According to the current law enforcement policy in Hong Kong, the above-mentioned illegal building works are all priority categories to be banned. The Buildings Department is following up the illegal building works at No.2.. And take appropriate enforcement actions; Owners are required to submit the progress plan of remedial works to the Buildings Department through authorized persons appointed by them 24 days in advance.
In response to media reports that the basement of No.7 Joyo Road was built before the occupation permit was approved for the property, which may be suspected of violating the Hong Kong Buildings Ordinance, the Buildings Department indicated that it had invited relevant authorized persons, registered structural engineers, registered contractors and owners to provide information to assist in the investigation.
