What are the good places to enjoy osmanthus in Suzhou?

Yaoshang Village, northwest of Guangfu Town, Wuzhong District, is the most concentrated village of osmanthus in Suzhou. Osmanthus fragrans has a planting area of more than 2,000 mu, which is a famous scenic spot in Suzhou with an annual output of 250,000 Jin. Not only Yaoshang Village, but almost every household in Fuquan Town has osmanthus, so osmanthus is almost everywhere in the town. When osmanthus is in full bloom, the whole town is in the fragrant sea of osmanthus. In addition to enjoying osmanthus, the fresh air here can also make people who are used to urban air wash their lungs well.

There are 23 osmanthus varieties in Guangfu town. Whenever the air is crisp in autumn, there are scenes of "thousands of green leaves and thousands of yellow flowers" and "laurel trees fall in the middle of the month, and fragrant clouds float outside". Looking up, I saw thousands of sweet-scented osmanthus trees on the mountain and under the mountain. In front of and behind the house, delicate yellow, red and white flowers compete to open; Outside the village, birds are singing in the fragrant hills.

Osmanthus fragrans Park was built in June of 1998 and June of 10, with thousands of osmanthus fragrans. However, old Suzhou, which has a soft spot for sweet-scented osmanthus, is not satisfied with this passing intersection. They are also very picky about places where they can enjoy osmanthus fragrance. The osmanthus fragrance pavilion in the lingering garden was built to appreciate the fragrance of osmanthus. "Wenmu Xiangxuan" is open on all sides, surrounded by osmanthus, and smells fragrant everywhere in autumn.

Wenmu Xiangxuan is the commanding height of the whole garden. Sitting in the middle of the Xuan overlooking, a pool of clear water is covered with folds, and the cornices on the other side are tilted and reflected in the water. There are thousands of trees around, and the wind and waves are bursting. If the sweet osmanthus fragrance in autumn seeps into your heart, what kind of realm is it? Xiao Xuan has a couplet: "Strange stones are full of eternal beauty, and osmanthus fragrance moves mountains and autumn". The second couplet is taken from the Ming Dynasty poem "Jianghan light turns to a thousand miles of snow, osmanthus fragrance moves to autumn in Qian Shan", and the word "move" completely describes the scene of osmanthus fragrance attacking people.

There are seven osmanthus fragrans varieties in Liuyuan, including Jingui, Yin Gui, Dangui, Zigui, Sijigui, Zhushagui and Yuanyanggui, making it the most popular garden in classical gardens. In particular, a mandarin duck, Guigui, has maintained a stable phenomenon of "bud change" since the "branch jumping" occurred in 1994, that is, branches with osmanthus flowers have appeared on the Jingui tree, which is a rare and peculiar phenomenon, attracting many tourists to visit the park.

In Suzhou, Jingui and Yin Gui usually bloom twice a year, and Yuanyang Gui who stays in the garden can even bloom three times. In general, the interval from the last flowering to the next flowering is 15-25 days. If the weather is dry, the interval will be longer, sometimes even in early winter.

In recent decades, osmanthus fragrans has been introduced into scenic spots and public places in Suzhou. Baixiangwan Eco-tourism Zone, located in Mudu ancient town, has nearly 1,000 species of plants such as Jingui, Yin Gui and Sijigui.
