In the early 1990s, the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Planning and Land Resources set aside a "treasure land" at Huanggang Port in Futian, downtown Shenzhen, which was free of land price. The funds were raised by the Municipal Economic Cooperation and Development Corporation from relevant provinces and cities in Shenzhen in the form of fund-raising for building houses. The original investor of the building is Shenzhen Economic Cooperation and Development Corporation. Due to objective reasons, with the consent of the municipal government, Hainan Guotai Investment Group Co., Ltd. and other three companies were transferred as a whole, and a press conference was held on March 3 1997 to rename "Xie Jing Building" as "Union Square".

Union Square, with a total investment of 65.438+0.54 billion yuan, covers an area of 6.5438+0.8 million square meters, with a total construction area of 2.65438+0.6 million square meters, with three floors underground, 6.65438+0 floors above ground and a height of 208 meters. It is the largest single building in Shenzhen, and it is a multifunctional intelligent comprehensive building integrating commerce, finance, exhibition, catering and hotel. This magnificent square is located at the intersection of Binhe Road, the east-west main road of the city, and Caitian East, the north-south main road. It is located at Huanggang Port, the largest land port in China, adjacent to the subway 1 line.
