Sing the lyrics of the motherland

The lyrics of the full version of Singing the Motherland are as follows:

The five-star red flag fluttered in the wind, and the song of victory was so loud.

Sing about our dear motherland and move towards prosperity from now on.

Over the mountains, over the plains.

Across the rushing Yellow River and Yangtze River, a vast and beautiful land.

This is our lovely hometown. We love peace.

We love our hometown, and we are United and friendly, as strong as steel.

The five-star red flag fluttered in the wind, and the song of victory was so loud.

Sing about our dear motherland and move towards prosperity from now on.

Sing about our dear motherland and move towards prosperity from now on.

Creative background:

This song was written in September 1950, which coincided with the first anniversary of the founding of New China. Watching the five-star red flag fluttering in the wind and flowers like the sea in Tiananmen Square, Wang Xin repeatedly brewed in his mind, and "Singing the Motherland" was completed in one go on the train back to Tianjin.

On September 5th, 1950, Wang Xin went to Beijing from Tianjin to buy musical instruments. When I passed Tiananmen Square on my way home, I was attracted by the golden sunset. Looking up, a bright red national flag is flying high in the sunset, which makes people excited. The inspiration of 32-year-old Wang Xin suddenly appeared in the first four lyrics.

Wang Shen boarded the train back to Tianjin, his thoughts flying, singing, writing and beating the time. Lyrics and music poured out almost at the same time. When he got home, Xinhe Wang and his wife, Wang Huifen, sang at the same time, while Wang Xin wrote the second and third paragraphs all night.

This song is widely sung because of its bright and majestic rhythm. It has become the ceremonial song, opening song or closing song of various major events in China, and is known as the "second national anthem".
