Wuhan Metro Group Co., Ltd. is a large-scale wholly state-owned enterprise established on the basis of the former Wuhan Rail Transit Co., Ltd. with the approval of the Wuhan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government on May 15, 2007, with a registered capital of 65.438 billion yuan. Authorized by the government, responsible for the construction, operation, management and financing of Wuhan rail transit. The company consists of office, human resources department, planning and finance department, contract and regulation department, preliminary planning department, quality and safety department, chief engineer's office, discipline inspection and audit department and other functional departments. At the same time, there are construction headquarters, land comprehensive development headquarters and Wuhan Metro Operation Company.

The company plans to complete the second phase of 1 Line, the first phase of Line 2 and the first phase of Line 4 before 20 12, with a total investment of about 27.3 billion yuan, forming a rail transit network with a total length of about 70 kilometers. At present, the network planning has been approved by the National Development and Reform Commission, and three lines are under construction. Long-term rail transit lines 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 will be built. After the completion of the 220km rail transit network, the three towns in Wuhan will be fully connected, and an urban public transport system will be established with rail transit as the main body and other modes of transportation as the supplement.
