Why build the Shanghai Center?

Shanghai Tower is a comprehensive real estate development project in Shanghai. A super-high landmark skyscraper will be built in the center of Shanghai, which will replace the nearby Shanghai World Financial Center and become the tallest building in Shanghai. According to the development plan, the project is located in Lujiazui Financial and Trade Zone, Pudong New Area.

In the overall planning of Shanghai, it is planned to speed up the construction of Lujiazui financial and trade zone, optimize and improve the regional functional layout, and promote the comprehensive development on both sides of Huangpu River. It is planned to build a comprehensive building "Shanghai Center" integrating office, hotel and business functions in plot Z3-2 of Lujiazui Central District in Pudong New Area, west of Dongtai Road, south of Huayuan Shiqiao Road, east of Yin Cheng Road and north of Lujiazui Ring Road. After the project is completed, it will form a top international office and business center with Jinmao Tower and Shanghai World Financial Center.
