Yan 'an City is located in the middle reaches of the Yellow River and belongs to the hilly and gully region of the Loess Plateau. Yan 'an landform is dominated by loess plateau and hills. The terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast, with an average elevation of about 1200m. Baiyu Mountain in the north is 1600- 1800 meters above sea level, and the highest point is Baiyu Mountain Peak in Guwu Town, Wuqi County, with an altitude of 1809.8 meters. The lowest point is in Houerchuan, Jiyi Township, Yichuan County, with an altitude of 388.8m and a relative height difference of1421m.
