The Cultural Background of Shengze Silk in Wujiang

Turning over the history of Shengze, we can see almost only two words-silk. If the history of Shengze is compared to a river, then silk culture flows in this long river. Let's just say that the history of Shengze is a history of silk development.

The ancestors of Shengze once created the glory of "sunrise, clothes all over the world", which made Shengze, a remote rural town, squeeze into the four silk capitals of China. Today,150,000 Shengze people have received the baton of development from their ancestors. They have made unremitting efforts year after year to create new glories in the Silk Capital.

In the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the silk industry, which was devastated by the Japanese aggressors and the civil war, made a difficult start in a depression. By the mid-1960s, after several joint efforts and transformations, the silk industry pattern with the four factories of Xinsheng, Xinhua, Xinlian and Xinmin as the backbone was formed. In rural areas, the silk weaving factory of Shengze commune was established in 1958, which was developed on the basis of a small number of manual workers. In 1960s and 1970s, township enterprises mushroomed, forming a number of well-known enterprises in China, such as China Xiang Ying Group and Jiangsu Yi Long Group. Silk weaving factories run by villages and towns are all over the town. By the middle and late 1990s, a large number of private enterprises were born, which added a strong stamina for the further development of the silk industry. By the end of 2000, there were more than 600 large and small factories and 20,000 silk looms in the silk industry in the town, and the fabric production capacity reached 65.438+0.2 billion meters, nearly 500 times that in the early days of the People's Republic of China. At the same time, the traditional printing and dyeing industry has also advanced by leaps and bounds. At present, the annual processing capacity of 2 1 printing and dyeing plants in the town exceeds1500 million meters. It has also developed the deep processing production of synthetic fiber raw materials such as polyester chips and polyester filaments and series of fabrics such as coating, calendering, flocking, sanding, calendering, compounding, printing and embroidery, forming an annual production capacity of 260,000 tons of polyester chips, 220,000 tons of polyester filaments and 654.38 billion meters of deep processing of fabrics. In addition, the knitting industry is also becoming a new production category. It can be said that Shengze has become the main silk textile production base in China.

As the main production tool, the evolution of equipment most clearly reflects the great changes in Shengze silk industry. In the early days of the People's Republic of China, there were only more than 700 electric ironwood looms in the town, and the others were hand-pulled and pedal-operated hand looms, which had low production efficiency. Since 1960s, K6 1 1 all-steel loom has been gradually upgraded to the leading equipment, and the last batch of ironwood looms in the town was eliminated in 1984. 1985, Xinmin silk factory introduced the first batch of water-jet looms. Since then, various factories have introduced various shuttleless looms such as water jet, air jet, rapier and projectile, and the production efficiency has been greatly improved. In the high tide of private economy development in 1999 and 2000, shuttleless looms were introduced in large quantities as the first choice equipment, and more than 9000 looms were added in two years. At present, the total number of shuttleless looms in the town has reached 1.3 million, and the silk products produced by them have accounted for more than 80% of the total, basically realizing shuttleless weaving. At the same time, a large number of advanced sizing and drawing equipment, overflow jet dyeing machine, printing machine, spinning and elastic production line, computer embroidery machine, high-speed warp knitting machine, weft knitting machine and other equipment were introduced, which greatly improved the technical equipment level of Shengze silk industry.

Shengze silk is not only superior in quantity, but also famous for its high quality. 1962, the beautiful silk produced by Xinsheng Silk Weaving Factory won 1 in the national appraisal. Since then, Shengze Silk has won many awards and has been favored by peers at home and abroad. During the period of 1983, in the national silk appraisal held in Hangzhou, four silk production enterprises, namely Xinsheng, Xinhua, Xinlian and Xinmin, and Wujiang Printing and Dyeing Factory won 1 at the same time, which shocked the national silk industry. Zhejiang Daily published three editorials in succession, which greatly praised this. In the subsequent national quality awards, Shengze silk products won three consecutive gold medals. At present, the varieties of Shengze silk have developed from traditional mulberry silk to hundreds of famous varieties in four categories: mulberry silk, interwoven silk, rayon and synthetic fiber. About 70% products are sold to the international market through various channels. Shengze town has been rated as one of the "top five" towns in China for six years in a row, and its silk export volume accounts for 1/6 of the whole country, making it a major silk export base in China.
