First of all, you should use C or C++ for ACM, so your programming foundation and algorithm foundation should be solid. If you are really interested in these algorithms, it is still recommended to take the postgraduate entrance examination and do research in the future.

Secondly, I want to say that in the future, if you go out to work, you must start from the programmer, not from the management at the beginning. You don't have that experience, so this is the only way, depending on the time you take this road. That is the reality.

Finally, since you are under great employment pressure, let me give you some advice: ACM may not be used much in future practical work. After all, the actual project will not engage in such complicated algorithms every day, and you should have a C foundation now. Then I suggest you develop into an embedded system. You can learn more about Linux. It will be easier to find a job in the future and the salary will be good. Of course, you can also learn languages like JAVA. For you who have a foundation, it should start soon.

You are now a sophomore last semester, and you will be a junior next semester in one year. You will find a job in the last semester of your senior year, and you will have half a year to study these things. With the foundation of programming, it is easier to learn. I don't know if you know C++ object-oriented programming, because java is an object-oriented language.
