A summary of employment channels for doctors of science and engineering

It's already February in a blink of an eye, and it's almost two months since I found a job. It's false that the fresh graduates who haven't found a job say they are not in a hurry. We can bear the heavy responsibility of bringing home the bacon, and the pressure is quite great. Let's talk about the summary of job hunting for doctors of science and engineering.

Looking back on my job search, I submitted dozens of resumes and interviewed 38 CLP Hefei, 65438 CLP Chengdu +00 CLP Chengdu, L G Shanghai R&D Center, Suzhou Institute of Medicine, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Hefei Institute of Advanced Studies. The situation in 10 and L G institutes is terrible. There is no specific information in 38 institutes, medical institutes and advanced institutes, and it is estimated to be terrible. I voted for 29 Chinese power companies the day before yesterday, but I was not shortlisted for the interview. Alas, being naked is despised and my heart is cold! Now everyone seems to be used to the feeling of rejection. Although my self-confidence will not fall to the bottom and will never recover, I am still very upset.

I majored in precision instruments and machinery, Bo San, from China University of Science and Technology. Ben Shuo Bo basically took his studies very seriously along the way. Although I was worried that no matter how hard I tried, I didn't make my undergraduate grades among the best in my class, and I was entangled in the delay in the progress of my doctoral program, I never gave up and broke through the difficulties of learning and scientific research with tenacity. Although it's hard to find a job all the way, I feel that as a doctor of engineering in a key university, I'm not a mixed bag, and I have real talents and practical knowledge. However, as a doctor of engineering in a prestigious school, why didn't you have an offer in this year when the employment situation was so good?

To sum up these two days carefully, I failed to "sell" myself for the following reasons. Let me give others a reference.

First, no project experience. This is a dead hole. At present, companies or research institutes recruit people on the basis of whether their major is right or not and whether they have actual project experience. Because the direction of the project has always been theoretical, many companies are reluctant to spend all their money on a doctor who they think is of slow value. The positioning of doctors in companies or research institutes is very different from that of master's or undergraduate students, hoping to recruit doctors to make breakthroughs in cutting-edge technology, so doctors without project experience are at a disadvantage. Here, I also want to remind all the students who are studying for a PhD. On the basis of cultivating their innovative ability, it is better to do some practical projects, so that the job will be easier to find.

Second, there is no clear career planning and job hunting goals. Although I majored in mechanical engineering, I am very interested in software computers and have accumulated a lot of knowledge in this field. When I submitted my resume, I invested in both machinery and software. I am not sure what industry I will enter and what direction I will do in the future. I got a written test opportunity from Baidu, but I didn't care at that time. Busy with the doctoral project, naked written test. It is not easy to find an industry that interests you, especially when your interests are different from your major. Therefore, younger brothers and sisters who are still in school must make clear their career plans as soon as possible, so that they will have clear goals when looking for a job, be fully prepared for the abilities needed by the target industry, and concentrate on interviewing several companies or research institutes, which will have a better chance of winning.

Third, looking for a job in the early stage is too optimistic and picky. The employment situation this year is better than last year. As for recruitment information, I only pay attention to campus recruitment, and only limit my work place to the Yangtze River Delta region, and go to R&D centers or research institutes of big companies. I have high expectations for salary and treatment, so I missed the recruitment of many companies.

Fourth, the written test and interview preparation are not sufficient. After several written interviews, I have accumulated some experience, and at the same time I have some understanding of what kind of people the company or research institute needs. Generally, foreign companies need to introduce their research work in English PPT first, which takes about 5 ~ 10 minutes, and there are 30 minutes of questions and answers, basically in English. Some domestic research institutes will also need to introduce their work with PPT and then answer. The content of PPT should reflect the research or project experience suitable for the corresponding position of the applicant, and the so-called technology is the so-called. The content of written test is basically the basic knowledge of professional courses, so it is best to read professional books first and get familiar with basic concepts. Some interviews also ask some basic conceptual questions.

Fifth, lack of expressive ability, and failure to examine oneself correctly. First of all, we can neither think highly of ourselves nor belittle ourselves. After several interviews, I also had a simple exchange with students from different schools and majors. No one is better or worse than fresh graduates and students of the same grade in China. However, due to different majors, different research directions and different projects, there are also some factors that cause relative strength. I feel that my abilities and professional background knowledge are all good, but the failure of the interview has a lot to do with my lack of self-promotion. Before the interview, you need to prepare, understand the recruitment position and company culture, prepare materials as needed, foster strengths and avoid weaknesses, and know yourself. At least express clearly and answer correctly. Different jobs should have different emphases.

These two days, resumes have been revised again, highlighting that college students have been busy with work since September. Nowadays, graduate students are no exception. They also start to prepare resumes, ask around and run around, just like casting a net, just seeking a satisfactory position. I studied some technical things, and also made some changes to the PPT of the interview, trying to talk about it. I have asked my classmates to be interviewers to find faults for themselves and review the basic professional knowledge again. Try to get a satisfactory offer as soon as possible and "sell" yourself to a good place. Of course, I hope the price will be higher, comparable to Garlic You Are Malicious, Ginger Your Army and Bean You Play. Resume delivery is mainly based on scientific research institutes, then consider suitable enterprises, and finally universities. In fact, scientific research institutes, enterprises and universities have their own advantages and disadvantages. The key depends on what kind of life you want, and the specific unit is considered comprehensively. Don't regret your choice. People often have an irrational love and fantasy about what they can't get. Before there is an offer, lay the internet cafe first.

These questions seem simple, and I always feel nothing. I've seen everyone's experience about finding a job, but when it's my turn, it's far more profound than looking at others' faces. I've been thoroughly educated. Keep working hard and try to find a job.
