The Department of Intelligence and Computing of Tianjin University has successively undertaken 973 projects related to artificial intelligence, key projects of R&D plan, major national science and technology projects, and key projects of Natural Science Fund. Tianjin University has a long history of computer science development. It is one of the earliest universities in China to carry out computer professional education, and has been forging ahead for more than 60 years. 2065438+2008 Under the background of the national comprehensive implementation of "double first-class" construction, in order to further optimize the discipline layout and promote cross-integration, Tianjin University established the Department of Intelligence and Computing.

The department consists of four colleges: Computer Science and Technology College, Software College, Network Security College and Artificial Intelligence College. It has three first-class disciplines: computer science and technology, software engineering and cyberspace security, among which computer science and technology and software engineering are the key disciplines in Tianjin, with postdoctoral mobile stations and doctoral degree authorization points for electronic information.

Computer science ranks in the top of ESI world 1‰, and the discipline direction of data science is supported by the construction of double first-class disciplines. The department was approved as the top-notch student training program 2.0 base (computer science) of the Ministry of Education, and the first batch of characteristic demonstration software colleges, computer science and technology specialty and software engineering specialty of the Ministry of Education were approved as the national first-class undergraduate specialty construction sites.

It has scientific research resources such as National Supercomputing Tianjin Center, Tianjin University Sub-center and Tianjin University Supercomputing Center. In recent years, the department has undertaken a number of high-level scientific research projects such as the national key R&D plan and the national key fund, and published a number of academic papers with great international influence. Many academic research achievements have been widely used in smart cities, public safety, cultural heritage protection and inheritance, intelligent transportation, smart health, disaster prevention and mitigation, astronomy and space science.
