The Historical Origin of Bordet Base in Jiading, Shanghai

Bordet Ji was founded in the Three Kingdoms Dongwu period, with a history of 1766. It is one of the earliest temples in Shanghai. The "Bodhi" plaque was given in the early Song Dynasty, and it was officially renamed Bodhi Zhai. In Ming Dynasty, Gui Youguang founded Zhenchuan Academy on the east side of the temple, which triggered the shock of the study style and Zen in the temple. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, it was rebuilt and commemorated with a monument. The former site is the former site of Anting Middle School, known as a thousand acres of fertile land, which is extremely prosperous. Before and after liberation, the temple was destroyed by war, leaving only a few broken houses. Since the implementation of the religious policy, with the care and support of relevant departments, the restoration and reconstruction of Bordet Kyrgyzstan has been put on the agenda. In June 2003, with the approval of relevant departments, the restoration and reconstruction of Bordet was officially launched. Dispatched by the Shanghai Buddhist Association, Master Cheng Wai, the former vice president of Shanghai Buddhist College, stayed in Bodaiji to cooperate with the relevant departments of the district and town. Under the leadership of Master Cheng Wai, the second-order people in Bordet closely rely on the leadership of the relevant departments of the city, district and town to actively unite the strength of the majority of Buddhists. In a short period of more than one year, the land of the new temple site was replaced through multi-party communication and consultation, and the opinions of relevant departments were fully respected, and the new temple site of 1 1 8 mu was determined. On this basis, the Restoration Committee invited Tongji Design Institute, Southeast University Design Institute, Suzhou Landscape Design Institute, Northeast Design Institute and other well-known ancient architectural design units to conduct design bidding. With the care and support from all walks of life, it is progressing smoothly and all preparations are basically ready. Daxiong Hall, Tianwang Hall, Bodhi Pavilion, lecture hall, monk's room, fasting hall, etc. Under construction, with a building area of over 6,000 square meters. This plan will take about two years to complete. Bodaiji is the oldest temple in Shanghai. It was built by Wu Guotai, the mother of Dongwu Emperor Sun Quan, in the second year of Wu Chiwu in the Three Kingdoms (AD 239). The original site is located in Anting Middle School. At that time, the famous materials transported to Zhejiang and Anhui, the former site of Buhanting, were built for many years. In front is the King Kong Hall, in the middle is the Guanyin Hall, and the main hall, the Ursa Major Hall, is solemn. There is a plaque on the lintel of the main entrance, which is one of the few temples built in Shanghai, and its scale and momentum are not comparable to those of ordinary small folk temples.

Bodaiji contributed to the birth of Anting Town. Due to the growing incense and fame of Bo Daiji, the neighborhood is densely populated and concentrated in Cheng Zhen. The Han Dynasty attacked the Qin system, with a pavilion in ten miles, and the pavilion was named after the pavilion, so it was called Anting, and one of Anting towns has been passed down to this day. For thousands of years, the people and believers in Anting proudly passed on a saying: "There are two and a half Bodhi in the world, and Anting Bodhi accounts for half." It is said that there were only two and a half Bodhi Dojo in the world at that time, two in ancient India and half in the Bodhi Dojo in Anting, China. Bodhi is translated from Sanskrit Bodhi, which means "awareness", "wisdom" and "Tao". Buddhism means to cut off the troubles in the world and achieve nirvana. There is "the heart of three virtues and three bodhis" in Buddhist scriptures, which means the desire to seek the highest ideal fruit, that is, the heart of altruism to become a Buddha. At that time, the Buddha also had an epiphany under the bodhi tree, so the bodhi tree was called a holy tree in Buddhism. Bodaiji has been repaired several times. According to legend, during the Kaibao period of the Northern Song Dynasty (968-975), Cai Hui, a monk, rebuilt the Bordet Temple, which has not been restored for hundreds of years. During the reign of Bao You in the Southern Song Dynasty (1253- 1258), after visiting Bordet, Fujian Chen Yiyuan wrote a poem, "Bordet's base was half abandoned, and Chai Men was not properly opened. Monks still lie by the scriptures, and officials come to tread wild. Deep suppression of birds can speak, when the wind cicada turns to sorrow. Sadness is in the wild, and there is Artemisia everywhere. " It can be seen that at that time, the thin birthmark had been broken. In the 20th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1592), the Jidian Temple in Bordet collapsed and the Buddha statue was destroyed, leaving little hope for the revival of the Millennium temple. Monks in Wuling, Hangzhou, cried at the sight of the moon and vowed to build a temple. In order to show his determination, Serene asked the blacksmith to cast a chain weighing more than 100 Jin, locked it around his neck, put the key in the ancient well in Bordet, and swore to everyone that "if the old concept of Ursa Major is no longer maintained, the chain will never be opened". Since then, regardless of the cold and heat, he has been running around with shackles weighing hundreds of pounds to persuade him to raise money. It took five years to finally build the Hall of Great Heroes. The temple is 8 feet high, 20 feet wide and the altar is 9 feet wide. There are 7 steps, with black iron as the door pivot and beautiful stone as the column base, and the large and small Buddha statues are reshaped. On the day of completion, people rejoiced and immediately took out the key from the well, untied the chain for Haiyue, unanimously elected him to preside over Bordet Foundation, and named the well "Keying Spring". According to legend, the ancient well has been buried up to now, but the well circle of "Toukeyuan" still exists in Bodaiji, which has become a symbol for future generations to remember the revival of the mage Haiyue.

In the eighth year of Daoguang in Qing Dynasty (1828), the governor of Jiangsu Province, Tao Shu, in memory of Gui Youguang, a great writer in Ming Dynasty (Xifu, whose real name was Zhenchuan, had taught in Anting for 13 years, and was known as Mr. Zhenchuan in his family), reported to Daoguang for approval, and used the open space in the east of Bordet to build Zhenchuan Academy. 1937, Bordet Kannonji was bombed by Japanese planes. 1948, when Master Yuan Ying came to give lectures in southern Jiangsu, he chose Anting Bordet Economy as the place to give lectures. At that time, more than 10 thousand disciples from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Shanghai and other places came to Bo Daiji to listen to the study of Buddhism, which shows the great reputation of Bo Daiji. During the Cultural Revolution, the Jidaxiong Hall in Bordet was destroyed by a disaster, and the only remaining King Kong Hall was demolished on 1976 because of termites. At this point, only the original Shanmen Bridge (also known as Tomi Bridge), ancient ginkgo trees and

This is just a key well circle.
