How to solve the problem of unbalanced gender ratio of primary school teachers

Nowadays, the imbalance of gender ratio of primary school teachers is particularly prominent in the problem of teacher structure in China, and the imbalance in some areas is very serious.

I saw a photo sent by a famous headmaster's circle of friends in the morning. Their school venue is colorful, and there are only a dozen male teachers among the 100 teachers.

There are more than 70 teachers in our Jianglin campus, and there are only 8 male teachers. The department is in good condition, with teachers 182 and male teachers 4 1 person, but there are only 2 under 35 years old and 38 over 45 years old.

There are three reasons:

1. At present, boys have no advantage in teacher recruitment. Written test, girls have strong ability to take exams. In the interview, girls have strong performance ability. It turns out that most boys in normal schools go to primary schools directly, which avoids this problem.

Boys' rationality, perseverance and courage can't be tested in the exam. And our education needs it very much.

2. Teachers' salary is average and their life circle is small, which makes most outstanding boys unwilling to be teachers. Most girls want to be stable in the future, take care of their families and children and are willing to be teachers.

3. Some boys think it is trivial to be a mother-in-law in primary school. If conditions permit, they will choose to teach in middle schools or universities.

How to solve this problem?

Short-term solution:

1. Change the way and content of the exam, learn less by rote and speculate more questions. The interview can be based not on lectures, but on defense, which is more likely to reflect the humanistic background and ideological thickness of candidates. Pay attention to comprehensive quality.

2. The ratio of male and female teachers should be different. Boys can choose 1 and girls can choose 1.

3. Give full play to the advantages of male teachers in primary schools and make them have a sense of belonging.

Long-term strategy:

Effectively improving the treatment of teachers and attracting outstanding people to be teachers will naturally attract many outstanding young people to teach in primary schools.
