Xinjiang police college, located in Urumqi, formerly known as Xinjiang People's Public Security School, was founded in 1950. In 2002, it was upgraded to xinjiang police college, and in March 20 12, it was upgraded to an ordinary undergraduate college with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the people's government of the autonomous region. The college is sponsored by the people's government of the autonomous region, managed by the Public Security Department and guided by the Education Department. It is the only public security undergraduate college in northwest China.
