Brief introduction of loess in Xia Shu

Some people also call it Xia Shu clay and Xia Shu clay. Loess deposits in the middle and late Pleistocene in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It is most developed in Xiashu and Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province. Most of them are distributed on the first and second terraces of the Yangtze River. The lower section is yellow-brown and red loess loam, dense and hard, containing calcareous nodules and 2 ~ 3 layers of paleosol. There is a layer of deeply leached paleosol at the top of this section, which is red in color and may be deposited intermittently.
