In February, Wuzhou Municipal People's Government signed an agreement with Guangzhou Sun Yat-sen University, entrusting CUHK to hold specialized courses in politics and history. On June 22nd, 1985, Wuzhou established the preparatory office of Guangxi University of Finance and Economics. On June 24th, the people's government of the autonomous region agreed to set up Wuzhou Branch of Guangxi University before the completion of Guangxi University of Finance and Economics. The municipal government appointed Li, Qiu and Mo Yihao as the heads of the preparatory office of Wuzhou Branch of Guangxi University and Guangxi College of Finance and Economics, and hung two brands of the preparatory office of Guangxi College of Finance and Economics and Wuzhou Branch of Guangxi University to carry out their work.
