Liupanshui Zoo, with a total investment of14.5 million yuan and a total construction area of 3 178 square meters, is built by Zhongshan Economic Development Zone and the district urban management bureau is responsible for the construction. The project started on October 28th, 2007/KLOC-0, with a construction period of 7 months. The first phase of the project covers an area of 96 mu. After the project started construction, the municipal party committee and the municipal government attached great importance to it, and the city leaders went to the site for office or inspection many times, demanding to do their best to build the zoo.

Liupanshui Zoo is located in the north of Renmin West Road and the south of Guikun Railway. It was built on the basis of the original Qingbi Park. It is a comprehensive theme park with the characteristics of wild animal ecological free-range, which integrates wild animal viewing, leisure and entertainment, popular science education and cultural display. The design of zoo venues not only conforms to the terrain, but also reflects the characteristics of captive animals in architectural modeling and facade modeling. The buildings in the park have their own characteristics and are distributed at different heights. The falling site is equipped with a sloping roof with Guizhou characteristics, which is in harmony with the surrounding mountains.

The animal park is divided into walking viewing area, vehicle viewing area, animal performance area and amusement area. Visitors can take a special sightseeing bus to watch animals along the rippling lake, and they can also walk and play with all kinds of exotic animals to feel the wonderful exotic environment of the animal kingdom, which embodies the harmony between man and nature. There are more than 120 species and nearly 500 animals from all over the world, including African wildebeest, antelope, Siberian tiger and African lion. Among them, there are 500 spectators in large animal performance venues and 1000 spectators in bird performance venues. The thrilling and interesting animal performances will definitely make the general public linger. It is reported that up to now, Liupanshui is one of the fifth cities in the province with zoos.
