Established in 1954, Dongfeng Liu Qi is a holding subsidiary of Dongfeng Motor Corporation, a large national first-class enterprise in China, a 3C certified enterprise and an ISO900 1 quality system certified enterprise.

Dongfeng Liu Qi is jointly owned by Dongfeng Motor Group and Liuzhou Industrial Holding Company, of which Liuzhou Industrial Holding Company is a wholly state-owned enterprise, and Dongfeng Motor Group is a state-owned enterprise directly supervised by SASAC of the State Council.
