The business hours of Jixi City Library are 8:30-17:00.

Jixi City Library is a comprehensive library fully invested by the Jixi City People's Government. It was established in 1963. The library building was built in 1987 and put into use in 1988, with a construction area of ??4,600 square meters.

It has an acquisition and editing department, a loan department, a children’s department, a local literature department, a network technology department, an economic and regulations department, a guidance department, an administrative office, a business office, a local literature reading room, an ancient books literature room, and an electronics department. Reading room, self-study reading room, newspaper and periodical reading room, multi-functional film and television hall.

Cultural Atmosphere

In 2013, since the library opened for free, the number of readers has increased significantly than before, mainly students and retired cadres, with the peak number from 2:30 to 4:00 pm every day There are more people during the holidays. An administrator said that before the implementation of free admission, there were few people reading and the atmosphere always felt lackluster. Newspapers and periodicals were changed every one or two weeks. As more people read the books, they became more energetic at work.

During the winter and summer vacations, readers were reading books in the Special Collections Department, Local Literature Department, Economic Regulations Department and even the Deputy Director’s Office, which used to be sparsely staffed. This was in sharp contrast to the previous situation where there were only a few readers.

The reason is that the library is no longer a simple library, and its role is not only to borrow and return books. The functions it embodies are gradually getting closer to serving the people, and a series of Cultural activities, such as the "Main Theme Movie Show", "Love the Party and Love Socialism Photo Exhibition", "Snow Blossoms Blossoming the Fragrance of Books" reading report meeting, etc. have gradually increased the number of people in the library. The library receives more than 1,500 readers per day, which is more than 1,500 people. It has doubled compared to before.
