What should I do if I promise to go to the interview and then I don't want to go?
If you promise to go for an interview and finally don't want to go, you don't have to make it clear by phone, because it will be more embarrassing. If you don't go, others will naturally know what's going on and won't call you. If the other party really calls, you can just say what you think. For the so-called interview, the company can choose the person, and you can also choose the company.
This happened to me when I was looking for a job before. I resigned from my last company. My hometown lives next door. She said that if she wanted to find a job, she could go to a company she knew. She just wanted to go and asked me if I wanted to go. If so, she will take me with her. I thought I didn't have a job now, so it didn't matter if I went to see it, so I went with her.
She wants to apply for a job as a sewing worker or a cook, but she is 45 years old. I don't want such an old sewing worker. There is no shortage of people in the kitchen now. The personnel department said that she could clean if she wanted to. The fellow villager asked her if she should clean the toilet. HR didn't say very kindly, of course, otherwise, what is cleaning for?
I got an interview for QA and asked me to report for work tomorrow. On the way back, the fellow villager said that she wouldn't go there to do it, and she couldn't do the work of cleaning the toilet. Her husband certainly wouldn't let her do it. This position usually has to work overtime, and the salary is not very high. If you are reasonable, you will not go. I wanted to call HR at first, but I felt uncomfortable and didn't call at last. No one called later to ask me why I didn't go to work. In fact, if you don't find someone else, you will know that you don't want to go.
Let me tell you another thing that I experienced personally. When I worked in my hometown county, I worked as a salesman in a boutique. When I was working there, a colleague resigned, so I had to recruit another person. A girl came to interview the manager and asked her to come to work tomorrow. The probation period was three days. When the girl stayed in the store until the afternoon of the third day, the manager told her to go back first, and we'll let you know the result tomorrow. The girl also specifically asked. The manager replied yes without looking at her.
When I looked at the girl's innocent appearance, I knew she would be disappointed. Usually, I say I don't want you to do it. If I asked you to do it, I would directly tell you to continue working the next day, but it may be the first time she has come out to look for a job. I didn't see her in the store the next day, and the manager didn't inform her. Of course, I haven't been paid for these three days, and I haven't said a word.
That's what the workplace is like. Stay for a long time, and naturally all kinds of people will meet.
