Chengdu Intermediate People's Court was established in October 1950, formerly known as Chengdu Municipal People's Court. It is now a department-level unit with a staff establishment of 541 and 482 formal staff. It has 25 court-level departments, 12 trial business departments, 3 trial comprehensive departments, and 10 administrative comprehensive departments. Among them are the Comprehensive Judicial Tribunal for Juvenile Cases, the Information Office, the Trial Management Office, the Litigation Service Office, the News and Publicity Office, etc. Other institutional settings are basically the same as those of courts in various places. Chengdu Intermediate People's Court has jurisdiction over 19 administrative regions and 1 high-tech zone, 20 grassroots courts, and 58 people's courts. The Chengdu Intermediate People's Court accepts more than 25,000 cases on average every year. In addition to jurisdiction over cases in the Chengdu area based on territorial jurisdiction, the jurisdiction of some foreign-related, intellectual property, and listed company cases covers the entire province. The city's courts have accepted about 150,000 cases annually in recent years, ranking fourth among the 15 sub-provincial cities in the country. Chengdu Intermediate People's Court accounts for about 14% of the city's courts. In recent years, the city's courts have seen an average annual growth rate of about 15%. Front-line judges in the Chengdu Intermediate People's Court handle nearly 200 cases per year, and grassroots courts handle more than 300 cases per person per year. The existing trial and office building of Chengdu Intermediate Court was put into use in 1994. It is located at No. 109 Fuqin West Road, Jinniu District, Chengdu, covering an area of ??13.6 acres and a total construction area of ??30,000 square meters.
