Is shitai county a poverty-stricken county?

Not anymore. Shitai county was once the only national poverty-stricken county in southern Anhui and one of the nine deep poverty-stricken counties in Anhui. According to the Report of shitai county Municipal People's Government on Poverty Alleviation in shitai county, by June 2020, all 35 poverty-stricken villages in shitai county had been listed, and the incidence of poverty was 0.49%. Nine indicators in six categories, such as basic public services at the grass-roots level, infrastructure construction such as water, electricity, roads and networks, and living environment, have all met the exit criteria. Therefore, shitai county is no longer a poor county.
